Top items to hope for, from NM Mephisto?

Hey guys!

Got a little fed up of hitting the brick wall in Hell with my lvl 77 Holy Shock Pally... With Phase Blade Cresent Moon I'm dishing out some serious pain... problem is coz my gear is so limited I struggling to be able to take the pain in return!

So I dusted off my lvl 77 pure lightning sorc and started running NM Mephisto in the hope of getting some better gear to survive Hell with!

What items that NM Mephisto should I keep an eye out for and are likely to help my Holy Shock pally through act 2 Hell and beyond?

On a side note I can get to Mephisto in around 20 sec thanks to a great durance lvl 2 map roll!

I don't know what ias bps you've reached and what items you've got, but sure!

Waterwalk's and/or Gore Rider
Vampire Gaze and/or Guillaume's Face
Bloodfists
String of Ears and/or Thundergod's Vigor
Ravenfrost and/or Dwarf Star

I'd try to get Rhyme in a good all res pala shield, Highlord's Wrath and Duress RW as armor

Already have String of Ears, Ravenfrost and Waterwalker's dropped last night!

Gore Riders + Highlord's would be a rather nice addition so shall be keeping my fingers crossed for those!

I don't know if it would exactly qualify as a "good" chance, but I'm pretty sure it's a chance - but it's probably near the top of Meph's TC's, so he won't have a great chance of dropping it. Also, I'm moderately sure that NM Meph can't drop Highlords.

As for your problems in Hell, I'd recommend trying to boost your life leech as much as possible. Your physical damage is probably ~ok but not great, so upping your leech % can be an effective counterpoint to that. If you don't have good gloves yet, maybe try some crafted blood gloves as easy CB, leech, and maybe some resists.

Getting a high block rate, easily done with Holy Shield, is probably your main priority. As somebody already mentioned, Rhyme is definitely a nice shield to go for, as it can be socketed into a shield with even more resist all or +damage, whatever your character needs. NM Mephisto is probably not going to drop anything great for your character, as HoZ is probably one of the rarest drops you can expect. Even if it were to drop, I doubt it would really solve all of your problems.

You may also simply need to adjust your play style- Hell is hard for a reason, and even a geared up character can't just charge in blindly and take out everything they encounter. Boss packs are dangerous for melee characters, and you'll need to get used to finding ways to get the numbers in your favor, especially for lightning immunes. Get some crushing blow and higher life leech. Goblin toe and some blood gloves can be good for this, or Guilluiame's Face if you are lucky enough to come across it in NM.

At lvl 77, you should be able to contend with most of the enemies the game throws at you. Just don't expect it to be a walk in the park.
