To imbue or not to imbue

Hey guys I was just wondering what your thoughts where for the imbue quest from charsi in act one in the 1.10 version so I made up this poll. just returned the malus to her in act 1 on normal

Save your imbues for ethereal elites and circlets. Imbue things like ethereal feral axes (highest damage 4 frame fury druid weapon), beserker axes, falcatas, colossus blades, +3 matriarchal bows.

You'll be shooting for high ED (200+) and self-repair (1 in 20), as well as the obvious IAS and leech. Fool's mod is really good too (+max/lvl +AR/lvl) for builds that need AR help - zons without penetrate.

I use my imbues kinda willy nilly. If I find some low level class specific weapon, I tend to imbue it around lvl 45 or so, especially with Zon stuff, as the Unique bows are worthless. I also like to imbue Druid Pelts and the occasional Orb, but I've not had much luck in that department.

I haven't used this quest reward since i imbued some chain gloves in 1.07. Maybe 1.10 has made this quest reward somewhat useful? But probably not

Weapons for fighting: level 45+ (chance for "Cruel" on the rare).

Circlets: level 27+ (chance for +1 class skills). Or save it for late game (Hell), to use with a Tiara or Diadem. Tiara requires an imbue at level 71+ to have a chance for +2 class skills.

Orbs, necro heads, druid/barb headgear, pally shields: level 44+ (chance for +2 class skills)

I follow Jiansonz' line

Basically imbue circlets (quite decent), or class specifics.
I just use 'm as i find something to imbue, playing in tournaments (untwinked) it can be a handy item. If you have lot's of stuff ready then just skip it, but for untwinked you may get lucky.

lately i have been imbueing Wirts leg (from Tristram). I never use imbue ever, so I figured it was a semi-cool way to get something nostalgic from it. :yep:

depend of char and time,

most of time, in normal I return from act II with a item to imbue, gloves or shoes in general. don't use in NM, use it time to time with elite items from hell or don't use at all. must say items are not very fantastic and best find on the ground

I imbue elite boots for my kicksin.

Wyrmhyde boots
+35% resis F/C/L
20 FRW
Good def
Extra gold

And on the plus side it turned them green! Very very cool.

wait until your lvl 80+ if possible, unless you really need something, but you onyl get 3 in the whole game and blwoing 1 on a useless low lvl item that is onyl good for 1 more act even after imbueing, is worse than savign it utnillater on, gettign nice mod on it, and then using it or muling it off.

i have a question about imbue quest. I only use diablo2(not the expansion but maybe soon) and i want to imbue an item. I have read the guide in this site but it was for 1.08. SO whith my amazon of level 47 i put a gotic bow and all i had is a stupid +1-4 fire damage,+65%damage+67 offensive power.
I read that i should have six attributes like +2 to skill, ....
What did hapen?

Rares get a random number of modifiers from 3 up to 6, and they're randomly chosen, meaning there's absolutely no guarantee of any particular modifier (such as +2 skills) showing up. Whoever told you that was wrong ;)

i save my imbues until i find a white "superior" elite item that might be useful. superior means the ilvl is higher, so you have a better chance of getting those useful mods like +2 to all skills.

.......?

AFAIK Superior (and, for that matter, Cracked/Crude etc) has no effect whatsoever on Imbues. The resulting ilvl is clvl + 5 (IIRC), the qlvl is unchanged from the normal, so affixes are calculated on those numbers instead.

i tend to imbue gloves, boots and belt as those seems to end better than weapons, also since i only play classic some of my best items come from imbuing
