To delete or not to delete..

Well, not my whole account but MFing is really starting to get boring and I'm just contemplating deleting all my chars. save for 2 and just kind of starting over again. I dunno.. it just gets so tedious running around durance, those stupid black souls make WS impossible for me and the pit is getting pretty uneventful too (I get exactly one worthless-semi decent drop a run).

I'll save what gear I've collected that I planned on xferring over before I do it but eh.. I haven't gotten everything I was looking for or need but I think I've gotten enough to consider myself lucky and to give my werebear & sin a good start.

You know how the routine goes. You will delete most of your items (since you only have 2 chars left) and you will be fine starting up some new chars, but inevitably you will want a decent source of items (boss running) and you will start up mfing again, don't bother.

You could just make some peoples' day, and give away everything except some starting items for the characters you're keeping. Might as well make somebody else happy while you're restarting ;)

You could just collect your best items, then consolidate the lesser ones into "All for 1" packages, try to score a few more solid items.

I usually end up doing that once every few months or so. Minus the deletion part :flip:

These are the steps you can take:

    1) First work out if you want to get rid of those items or not. Think of the advantages, think of the drawbacks, whatever, just ... uhm... work it out already! ;)

    2) If you don't want to delete them, fine, go play. If you do, however, think of some nice competitions you can hold amongst your friends (or even maybe people on the forum) with items as prizes. A treasure hunt, hide and seek, tag run,... wherever the dark corners of your mind lead you to! Be creative! Just pressing a delete button is boring. If you want to get rid of your items, do it in a fun way!

    Enjoy!

    On a sidenote.

Your black soul problem can be easily solved with a bit of Lightning Absorb. Just wear TGods, Wisp or Blackhorn's Face...etc. Any single one, or combination, of these and black souls willl once again seem like just another monster.

As for your pit problem. All you need is patience. Most of the time the pit drops nothing but garbage. But I've observed that you should get at least one "godly" every 50 runs approximately. (Yes, ~49 runs of nothing can be pretty boring but at least the XP is good.)

But regarless, starting fresh is always nice! Good luck and happy hunting. :D

    Kill Them All!

Starseed, coming from someone who lives by it: delete everything or give it all away. There is nothing as fun as playing this game untwinked, especially if you've been playing for a long time and are growing bored.

Every time I start a new character I do absolutely no twinking. I will not share runes or items between my characters even if they need them... each one plays self-contained.

See, the (problem?) issue is that its not that hard to get good stuff. I have been playing an untwinked, unrushed Frost Zealot on EHCL. He is almost level 80 and has ZERO magic finding. Through doing public baal runs and simply playing the game and trading on these forums he is using:

Rockstopper, HoZ, Laying of Hands, Bladebuckle, Sanders Boots, Viper, Nords, 2 rare rings and an amazing rare amulet. Hardly laughable as he's doing fine in act4/5 hell and his gear will only improve.

I hope this hasnt gotten too rambling, but playing totally untwinked will definately make you enjoy this game more, in my opinion.

If you're on EHCL, I'd be happy to start a totally new character right along with you if you need companionship. *Kitriara or your best bet is to drop me an email: [email protected]

    Good luck!!!

Why not just make a second account and play on that untwinked. That way you can go back to mf'ing if you feel like it later.

    Good idea there....

Or just vary yer mf runs. Sooo many places to mf nowadays that its easy to break the monotony of single runs. Also gets U away from those dreaded Souls. Try making a total killing machine w/ zero mf to cruise thru pits: Not only is it fun slaying w/ max kill speed, U have a better chance of finding those nice grey items that are worth a fair amount.....
