Finds from merely leveling my sorc with eld/shenk/pindle/trav runs in nm I have netted :

32 Viper ----Soon to be traded for a very nice sword

+1 Passive and magic skill GC with +23 life
+1 ele skill gc
Some nice res/mf gauntlets
Quehagans wisdom
Rockstopper
21%ed +11 max jewel (ugh, low on both)
Couple decent rare ammys
LoH

Since I can't make the game after 5, I go off, exercise, come back and start the cycle again.

It's actually been a good Mf day..quite scary considering I'm just leveling...and my barb has been mfing for ever to find nothing

I swear sorcs have some hidden +300% mf bonus My druid mf'er doesn't find anything regardsless of the amount of mf on him, but my enchant sorc finds good stuff all the time even without any mf

I have another theory. Whenever you expect/want something to drop, it won't, and when you're just fooling around doing the other stuff, the godly items start to appear...sometimes.

Conclusion: don't do 'MF runs', do 'Let's-have-fun-with-that-Meph/Andy/Shenk-guy runs'

Nah, personally when I will items to drop, they do.
Either that or I specifically notice every time it happens and disregard every time it doesn't.
But just a few examples;

Join game "Bring GF"
Run pin thinking "ya know what'd be neat..."
Just as the guy asks "you have GF?"
247% GF drops

Trade for eth shako after going from 78-89ish without finding one off of mostly e/s runs
Decide "hmmm...running shenk it could lose dura, let's do nothing but eldritch till shako drops"
50 runs later shako

Killing some time doing pin runs waiting for baal runs to open
Thinking I need a stylish SS to start up a sorc
First golden monarch I've ever had drop for me hits the ground after 10 runs

Doing solo NM baal runs because I want a Wiz before going to hell, and it's a good way to level
2nd wave of minions drops one on 3rd run
Just for reinforcment Baal drops another one at around run 30

See, I quite clearly have the ability to make items drop for me. So long as you ignore the fact that I have a specific drop in mind almost every time I kill a monster ^_^

But even when I say to myself "I don't expect anything", BN gods are not fooled with my false claim, and reach deep into the IDs of my psyche to find out, that I'm always expecting...anything. When I say "I expect anything" - the same happens....Anything just won't drop!

This sounds a lot like me. If I try to seek out items, I get stuff like isenharts case (and thats if I'm lucky). When I'm just goofing off, I find the best stuff.
Example 1: Trying to do pit runs. On the way there, I run into a carver camp. I kill em all with multishot and 1 drops a gul rune at my feet.
Example 2: Trying to do baal runs. I won't tele for the leechers with my melee sorc so they all stay in town. I take outer wp. Some boss pack jumps me (guess someone tried before me and gave up). I kill the boss pack and ohm (!) drops.
Example 3: Trying to rush some mule for hellforge. I'm killing hephasto when some random monster runs up behind me. I kill it and a jah (!!!) rune drops.
Example 4: I decide to do a chaos run with my bowa. Afterwards, I was going to leave but something told me to stay and do diablo. Well, Diablo drops a gold ammy. I'm thinking "Oh look Nokozan" and fall out of my chair when I found it was a perfect maras.

I think gambing works the same way. I spent over 3 mil gold on gloves trying for 2 java 20 ias. Basically emtpied out all my characters. No dice. A bit later I went to go duel and noticed I had like 200k. Since it was just going to get stolen anyways, I thought "why not?". I get it on my 2nd try.

I could keep going but I'm sure you get the idea.

Now let's compare this to when I actively seek items out:
Example 1: Looking for sojs. I mf nm andy ~500 times with ~400 mf. Most of the games are crowded/full, as I was offering the unwanted drops to those that waited. Total sojs found: 0
Example 2: MFing shenk and eld, looking for anything good really. I do ~200 runs, ALL in full games. I find 0 uniques. ZERO. Not even a low one.
Example 3: I mf eld shenk pindle pit all ~50x each. I find 1 decent unique and 1 crappy one. .

At this point I decided to stick with my hellforge rush team.

Then, every game I seemed to join after that, everyone was scanning me and asking how much I'd trade it for...

Must be worth a bit at present?

Yes skullders is quite valuable.

Especially if its high ed%.

On my first drops from Meph sorc I get a Skulders about every 100 runs. Found at least 6 so far, but 0 shaft. Must be my sorc only triggers the Skulders item # or something LOLOL
