Tip of The Day

I will be posting a tip for every day(or atleast, everday of the week).

I ask that no one post under here unless necessary, as I'd like to keep this as clear as possible and only fill the thread with tips. I appreciate your cooperation. And maybe this will get stickied if I maintain it :winner:

NOTE: If you have a tip, feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Tip of The Day

Variant: Skellimancer w/ Partial Trang-Oul's Set Bonus

In the early levels of Normal and Nightmare, it helps to use your fireball skill to get that initial kill.

When facing Physical Immunes/Elemental Immune(One or two possible elements). It is often best to use Amplify Damage to break their Physical Immunity, rather then their Elemental Resistance with Lower Resist. You will need a higher level Lower Resist to break their Elemental Resistance.

Amplify Damage is usually the better choice anyways, due to the fact that you've most likely got an Act 2 Might Merc and are depending on Physical Damage.

Variant: Any Necromancer w/ Gumby and Dim Vision

When running to Meph or any of the other popular bosses. I find it works well if you cast Gumby to attract as many monsters as possible, then Dim Vision them.

They're then rendered blind so you can run by, and any monsters that weren't blinded target Gumby. Bless his soul.

Rinse and Repeat.

Variant:Skelimancer/summoner

Skelimancer/summoner:
When fighting in areas that dont provide much room (such as the dark tower, with its narrow doorways), get into the room, drop a TP, go to town and come back. All your minions are then in the room, ready to fight.

Tip of The Day

Variant: 'Boner'

"I found Infernal Tools set to be extremely useful when starting my bone necro. It gives +2 necro skills and the wand has decent melee damage for act 1. If you put a point in Skeleton and Skeleton Mage, you'll have 6 minions helping you out. The set is available at level five with a str requirement of 45 for the belt. These minions won't do a lot of damage by themselves but they take the heat off of you and your merc.

The minions aren't useful past act 3, but by then you've got Bone Spear anyhow."

Thank you very much.

Hi Planet.

I would prefer for you to make one thread of tips, and when its done to post it all together. If its good enough (which I'm sure it could be) it will be added to the main info sticky.

In response to your PM for clarification; I dont know if you are doing the tips on a day to day basis, or reading from a list. My desire would be to get these all together in one document at some point (or at least the good ones), e.g one forum post.

The tip of the day is usually acquired that day. I don't believe that I could compile a list immediately. I could certainly try, but I hoped that this would be an ongoing thing that people checked on a regular basis...

Whenever you're trying to get that first kill but are hesitant of whether or not to charge forward, cast Gumby and drag them to you and your Merc. This will activate far fewer monsters. And gumby usually runs towards you upon being cast anyways.

Think about it... If someone new to the forums went to your tip of the day thread after 270 days running... They would read the first 2 pages tops, maybe check the most recent 3-4, and then leave. Thats still 200+ tips they miss out on. Even if they did search around... Thats making them spend much much more time looking if they were just looking for say bone necro tips. Giving them a one post database of some sort will help the most. Give them an index/table of contents and give them categories of builds or something. Sure you wont have it ready by tonight but FAQ's, guides, etc arent one night things. Theres my 3 cents.

You know what? That is a good idea. I will do that.

I am announcing my project to compile as many tips as possible and sort them(necro only, sorry. )

Thanks

I'm guessing it will be posted right here in the Necro forums.. So the format you should use is the mark-up commands that the forums support (which from what the box in the lower right tells me, is right here).
