Well, if we get started earlier today, maybe we'll see more posts in the daily...

Not much D2 action yesterday although I did play Sacred a bit, starting a new Wood Elf and Seraphim... indecisions, indecisions :flip:

Since my printer has helpfully stopped printing (I've come to hate inkjet printers) I have to get another damn cartridge for it, so that I can print off a piece of coursework. *mutters something uncomplimentary about those who still use paper submissions for computer programs*

On top of that I now have just over 3 weeks to produce my main project. Currently I have about ~30 lines of Java. It's supposed to be, well, bigger, and do more than pop up a blank window...

Still, it'll sort itself out, I'm sure. And if it doesn't... well, who needs a CS degree? *shrugs*

Not much to report, trying to spend 4 days somehow (counting Thursday too) before moving back to my parents :rant:

Oh well, at least I can spend time with my brother then, during the last 6-7 months that have been luxury. Maybe it will make me more interested in D2 again, we can play on LAN then and it is much more fun to see his face when something uber drops for me We could also try some nice character combos, like Venomancer (Usamahanas' build) and pure lightning sorc. Those two together should beat hell easily

My selffound Grail is stuck, I don't know if I will actively try to complete it anymore

I've had a pretty uneventful day thus far. Had the final exam papers for my course printed this morning so they'll be ready for June. I was a little annoyed that I had to have them done so soon but we've had problems with leaked papers in the past so department wants everything done and placed in a secure vault well in advance this year. Ah well, it's taken up most of my week but at least that's done.

I have a brief meeting this afternoon and then I'm off to do some shopping for my little brother's birthday. He's turning 21 today so I suppose I should stop calling him little.

Apart from that, nothing much to report. Going to be a little busy over the next two days but once the weekend hits I'll be trying to fit in as much D2 as I can. 4 of my 7 characters have been Mat'd/Pat'd in the past three weeks so I'm hoping to add a Paladin Patriarch to the list this weekend. After that, all that remains is an Assassin and a Druid.

Once that's done, I suppose I'll have to set some new goals.

Well I moved Thor from clvl 52 to 60. He has now been able to equip his Heart of The Oak flail (thanks again Strijdje). In a MP game we where able to move him from A2 to A5. The two paladins where quite able to tank Diablo on players8 sustaining NO damage and took him down rather quickly for some ordinary drops.

Best drop was probably a 29% Nagelring



Oh just to let the wider community know, a character by the name of LoD-Ama joined (item pack) joined the game, wouldn't speak, left again and then repeatedly left/rejoined. At the end stated we where Noobs. Didn't try and PK cos' apparantly we where not worthy.

I finished off NM Baal last night with my zealot. He really wasn't much trouble. I had some close calls with the Minions, though.

The Ancient Mummies poisoned the hell out of me--I had to slam two full rejuvs even with cleansing active. Lister and the boys ran my merc into the ground, but with my static field popping every few seconds, they didn't give me that much trouble.

For all my work, Baal didn't drop much of anything. I think the repeating crossbow was the high point, and that's not really a high point.

I jumped into hell right after that, but my resists took such a major hit, that I didn't even leave the camp. I'll have to start hammering my stashes for resist equip. I'm thinking of making a Sanctuary(?) Shield (Ko-Ko-Mal) or Smoke Armor. I'd really wanted to hold onto my upgraded Rockfleece Sharktooth Armor for the look and the 10% PDR, but I can't handle Hell with only 7 lightning resist.
No way.

Yesterday afternoon i got together with my project group for one of my CS courses (Agent-Based Simulations, if anyone's curious) and hashed out a project in one sitting that's supposed to take two weeks. I can't take much credit for it tho; one dude is a very Java-experienced programmer, and the other guy knew the model we were supposed to be implementing inside and out. I was just the code monkey that banged out the code as we talked out the basic structure of the thing. It's such a nice change being in a project group where everyone's competing to contribute more than the next guy, rather than less. The only problem is that we went so fast that we didn't do much testing of the individual methods at all, so when it didn't work at the end we weren't really sure where the problems were Ah well, we still have two weeks to iron out the bugs.

After they left i got my fishymancer, Felix, a little bit farther, doing full clears of the the maps right before Lower Kurast. It's a super-safe build, but i must confess i'm getting a little bored being nothing more than a spectator/mule for my skellies Once he reaches Mephy he's going to be there for a good long time. Got Nell and Raven (hybrid zon and conc barb) both to lvl 15, so they can enjoy more of the goodies Felix gathered for them. Then i crashed for a good couple hours. Hopefully i'll find a few hours tonight when i can get Felix even closer to Meph. Signing off,

Someone like that visits our MP games sometimes. I don't know who they are and why they do that but it is childish. And it is funny that some people call others "noobs" because they don't have dozens of BotDs lying in their stashes, im pretty sure you knew much more about this game than him

It wasn't a long time ago I was in MP game doing hell WSK runs with many guys from SPF. A necro wearing full Trangs set joined, we welcomed him and continued playing. He never said anything, just followed us and stood still when we fought. When battling Baal minions he just stood there until 2 or 3 packs were killed and then disconnected. Im pretty sure no-one else paid any attention to him in that game but imo he behaved in weird way

It is always a good thing to ask forum nick of the people who join

I think i said something in yesterdays thread about how nothing slows down Fenris_Ulf except FI/LI and bad a$$ ghost packs...well I went into the Icy Cellar at p3 to see a man about an uber chest and cleared it out...mostly, on the way out, I saw there was a little area at the bottom left, I didn't visit...hmm, what's over there? Only a freakin Boss pack of Frenzytaurs, Boss was Might Cursed Extra Fast and Stone Skin to boot...I don't even think I saw the look on my minions faces as they vanished into oblivion and I'm screaming like a little girl werewolf...running trying to tp, hitting Esc, just as the death message popped up.

I thought about going back and getting my body...then I thought about it again...and just hit Esc, unfortunately for my giveaway, I forgot to put the Windhammer I had found earlier, into my stash...it went *poof* into the ether...So now there is only 1 Windhammer in the giveaway stash, not that anyone really wants it anyway.

Ok, so new game, cleared it out, gloams, no prob...even with 57 LR, I just tease em with the grizzly and they come runnin to their own demise. I also noticed that Rabies is useless even with cheesy synergy, too many Poison Immune. So where should I have spent those 20 pts? Dire wolf, to make the grizzly an Uber tank?

On to the ancients, p3...no prob right? I'll just reroll if FI...problem, they handed me my butt in a nice sack 4 times...then I said ok p2...same thing...p1 still killing me...I got 2 down, just as that WW hit me while I was amped...so tonight their done...and its on to Patdom. I'm sure Baal will take 3 secs with my 5ps Fury and 50% CB, I have. Lister, however, could be a problem with the wrong mods.

Fafner, the avenger is waiting on deck, should be pat by this weekend.

This is the first time that i've posted in one of these daily threads, but everyone has to start somewhere.

I didn't get a chance to play D2 yesterday as i spent the evening installing my new wireless network on my home computers and laptop. And i have to say that it is really sweet being able to hook up to the internet from any room in the house with my laprop.

Anyway they only Diablo i have been playing of late in my competitor for the Greek God Tourney that Jezzwashere started, i don't think any of the other gods are still playing but i'm really enjoying playing him at the mo.

My character is called Hephaestus, and is an elemental druid, he is currently lvl 50, and is having a real easy time in NM for some reason, although i guess he'll struggle more as more of the monsters get fire immunities, oh well we will have to see.

He currently has about 200 MF and is constantly finding greens and golds, nothing for my grail yet, but he is a little low for that, maybe i'll play him all the way through and he'll be my new MFer, we will have to see if he lives long enough.

Procrastinating my school work has finally caught up with me; now I have less than a week to complete an in-depth essay about the effectiveness of double hulls as a pollution prevention measure on tankships. It has a lot to do with the excess of time I spent playing D2, and telling myself that I would get to the paper after lunch, after dinner, or after mom called...it was always the "after" thing that kept reappearing. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, though, because I know my topic and all of the research is done. I just need to sit down and push buttons to finish the essay.

Needless to say, my present school situation prohibits D2 playing for now. I've been doing some trading, and I've procured the rest of the items needed to complete M'avina's Battle Hymn for my new Amazon (thanks to nikstone!) Maybe I'll be able to put some time into her in a few weeks.

Well, I'm off to work. We're doing a community clean-up thing for Earth Day today - by the way, happy Earth Day, everyone! - so I have to get all of my real work done in the first two hours of the day.

So, last night I finished off Act 1 NM with Vixen (sorceress -- hydra+thunderstorm), and got a Magefist from Andariel, which made her very happy :jig:

(And this is exactly why I prefer to play untwinked. If she'd already been decked out in +skills gear handed down from other characters, this would have been just another ho-hum drop.)

My weakness prevailed once again, and I did a few Pindleskin runs. Good thing, too. My Sorceress, Emma, hit level 90 upon killing one of his minions, then Pindleskin decided to drop a Corona as a birthday present - on the same run! That only leaves the Vortex Shield to make the full set!

this seems like "the day" for people to make their first daily threads posts, ive been working on my skillz tourney sorc alot lately, getting her to about level 54, and destroying everything in my way without prejudice, the only problem is that if i get hit, it hurts really bad, although it doesnt happen much, i guess its just one of the hazards of playing 1.10 hardcore untwinked using only level 12 and lower skills... eh?
