Throwing Barb Questions...

Hi,

I'm planning on making a Throwing Barb and I have some questions if you guys don't mind. First of all, I'm debating whether or not to get two throwing weapons or go one with a shield. What do you think? I'm probably going to be dueling (Not BvB although I will do it occasionally) the majority of the time, except when I'm lvling up.

Secondly, how much dex do you recommend if I go two handed? Just enough to use my weapons? Finally, this is my skill distribution thus far:

- Max Double Throw
- Max BO
- Max Throwing Mastery
- Max Double Swing
- Rest in Iron Skin or Shout

How does this look so far? If I use dual gimmershreds, what kind of dmg can I expect in PvP? If you have any tips, please feel free to mention them. One more thing, how much str should I am for? I was thinking rougly 120ish?

your skills look good -- pump shout and not iron skin. shout gives a higher bonus.

dual throwing is basically necessary. the built-in "throw" skill has no AR bonus so you would have trouble hitting anything without dual throwing.

sorry, but i have no idea about damage. :scratch:

don't forget about other alternative (ethereal) throwing weapons too -- warshrike, lacerator, wraith flight, demon's arch.

Gimmer's have horrible speed, and the repair cost is kinda screwy. I would trade them for normal or if possible etheral lacerators. These are possibly the best throwing weapons {crazy chance to cast amp, open wounds, great damage for throwing also}.

The open wounds & amp stand out the most. In pvm that will help remove any possible immune to physicals.

Okay, thanks. Is Lacerators much more expensive than Gimmershred? I have one Gimmer right now...

So, my build looks pretty good? So, I need enough str for gear (What do you recommend? I doubt I will ever get Enigma), enough dex for gear, and everything else into vit?

How much dex and str do you think I should get? I was thinking 120 for str and 125 for dex since Arreats is 118 str or something and Lacerators are 122 dex.

I use one lacerator and one warshrike on my throwing barb. It's all good, the chances to cast amp dmg and open wounds on lacerator are awesome in pvm. Warshrike give piercing attack which also is useful in pvm.

About pvp I haven't tried it yet, my bet would be that you'd be better off with javelins (demon arch) because of the higher range. Throwing axes and knives have a very short range, that can be a big problem in pvp

Barb throwers used to be one of my favorite builds.

Anyone use Grim Ward? I used to set it up,and have a nice time killing monsters as they ran away.
