Re: Thread'O'Riddles

Your first line said they were in a line. How could they be walking in a circle? Unless you want to say that a circle is a line.

Re: Thread'O'Riddles

a line as in walking behind each other...you know.. like a line^^
but that wouldnt mean they are standing in a straight line

anyway who cares? Its not the right answer anyway^^
btw idea of this thread was other people to post riddles as well

Re: Thread'O'Riddles

I'll post some later after work for sure!

But about the ants:
Answer 1: The ant in front was refering to himself being the ant in front. "The front one says: there is one ant in front and one in back of me".

Answer 2: There is another ant way ahead of them, not part of the line of three. Sort of like the world is round answer.

A mummy worm a daddy worm and a baby worm are all traveling together as they come across a mound of dirt.
Instead of trying to go round the hill they decide to dig through.
Each worm starts digging at they same time going through their own hole with no crossing over to the any of the other tracks but when all three of the worms exit their whole at the other end of the mound the baby worm turns around and says "there's only two holes"

Answer the baby worm can't count

Re: Thread'O'Riddles

that's quite the same riddle as in the op.

Btw, wouldn't this format be better:

Riddle: <insert riddle here>

<insert answer here>

1. haha nice one there, though that really is a mistake, I just didn't write "in front of me" because I didnt want to write "of me" twice ;)

2. There are 3 ants than you cant make 4 ants ^^

about the spoiler thing, I was going to do that but couldn't figure out how

my vital organs?^^
btw please post the answer too or it might get compilicated if too many people are guessing and answering different riddles:thumbup:

Heres another from me:
You are in a room with no doors and no windows. the only things in the room are a table and a mirror, how do you get out?

you look in the mirror and see what you saw, take the saw cut the table in half, two halves make a whole, put the hole in the wall, and go through the hole :D

Re: Thread'O'Riddles

This is more a Triva Q?
A sum, proved impossible by the theorem, appears in an episode of The Simpsons, "Treehouse of Horror VI". In the three-dimensional world in "Homer3", the equation 178212 + 184112 = 192212 is visible, just as the dimension begins to collapse. The joke is that the twelfth root of the sum does evaluate to 1922 due to rounding errors when entered into most handheld calculators; notice that the left hand side is odd, while 192212 is even, so the equality cannot hold. The values agree to 9 of 40 decimal digits. A second 'counterexample' appeared in a later episode, "The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace": 398712 + 436512 = 447212. These agree to 10 of 44 decimal digits, but notice simple divisibility rules show 3987 and 4365 are divisible by 9 so that a sum of their powers is also. A similar rule reveals 4472 is not divisible by 3, so that this cannot hold either.

Whats is Fermat's Last Theorem in fiction?

If a red house is made of red bricks, a white house is made of white bricks, and a purple house is made of purple bricks, what is a green house made of?

A greenhouse is made of glass

Most of my riddles are supposed to be said out loud, they don't really work well in text form. However, I do have one more:

If it takes one man 5 days to dig a hole, and 2 men 2 days to dig a hole, how long does it take 4 men to dig half a hole?

You can't dig half a hole

Re: Thread'O'Riddles

are they mutualy exclusive?
That depends. He didn't give any context, so no, not in his riddle.

a line as in walking behind each other...you know.. like a line^^
but that wouldnt mean they are standing in a straight line

anyway who cares? Its not the right answer anyway^^
btw idea of this thread was other people to post riddles as well
 Well, lines are "straight;" lines are whatever happens to be straight in whatever context you're using.

But about the ants:
Answer 1: The ant in front was refering to himself being the ant in front. "The front one says: there is one ant in front and one in back of me".
I kinda like this answer.

Here's one I thought of a few days ago (it's less a riddle and more a math joke):

Where are infinitesimals grown?

A differential farm.

If this isn't funny (more than one possible reason for that), then I can give the idea it's based on.

Infinitesimals are one way of doing calculus, differential forms are another.

A man and his biological son are in a car, and they get into an accident. The man is unhurt, but his son is seriously injured. The man drives his injured son to the hospital. The doctor comes out, looks at the man and boy and says, "I can't opperate on this child; he is my biological son!" How is this possible? (No one is lying)

The doctor is the boy's mother.

A harder riddle (use your lateral thinking here!): A man is found on an island with no objects, he has been crushed to death, and he did not fall here from a plane or other flying object. No one placed him here. He died from his crushing injuries. What happened to him?

He is on a traffic island in the street. He was struck by a vehicle and landed here.

I guess you're referring to the geometrical definition of a "line"
But take the movie theater for example, you can stand in the "line" to wait for the tickets. And it doesn't have to be a straight line

Heres an easy one ;):
Who is the son of you father, but isn't you brother?
You, unless of course you aren't a guy

If you want to cross a 100 ft wide canyon and all you have is a 12ft laddr and an endless supply of rope how do you do it?
fill the canyon with rope

what's green and has wheels?
grass, i lied about the wheels
