As of early 2019, there are 25 open jobs in the "Diablo" section. Two of these are for "Diablo: Immortal", the others are listed as "Unannounced Project" or simply "Diablo" - these are presumably for Fenris (or any additional project that we don't know about yet).

An interesting one that went up recently is for "Quest Designer" on the "Unannounced Project". The text says: "Solid grasp of the styles of writing that work best for dark fantasy and gothic horror role-playing games" (my emphasis). The phrasing certainly suggests that they are going for a dark style, which matches what was said in the Kotaku article. The other point is that in this, as well as in previous job offers, they write "role-playing games". Not "action game", not "action rpg", but "role-playing games". This makes me slightly optimistic that they are backtracking on the arcade/action-focus of D3 and returning to the rpg-roots of the game. Hopefully with permanent character builds etc. (D1 essentially started out as a computer implementation of a pen&paper role playing game, it was even supposed to be turn based at first).

There are a lot of 'unannounced' Diablo Project job opportunites going at Blizzard right now [14th Jan 2019]. What is weird is how they give away that it is Diablo related and at the same time an 'unannounced' project. They clearly expect us to be scanning this for info as to report on what is going on a Blizzard.

A couple of positions have been filled, we are at 20 now (ignoring those for Diablo Immortal).

I found this interesting phrasing in a job description for a Senior UI Artist. They want someone "to create the best art possible for the front-end interface of a huge Diablo game" (my emphasis).

The number of open positions has been hovering around 16-17 in recent months. Notably, there were 2 jobs for Quest Designer and 1 for a Narrative Designer. Two of these are still open, one of the Quest Designer jobs has recently been filled.

A job description for a Senior Environment Artist has the following language: "Author environmental assets for a modern pipeline including modeling, and texturing assets for the Diablo World". It's not the first time that a Diablo World has been mentioned with uppercase letters. Read into this what you want.

There were also about 3 or 4 Diablo Immortal jobs, but those have all disappeared recently.

The newest one is a Senior Dungeon Designer: "We are looking for a talented content designer with experience building interesting levels and crafting fun scripted content for a dark, gothic Action RPG. The ideal candidate must be able to collaborate within design, art, and engineering groups to create dungeons with fun and varied gameplay content."

They also explicitly mention "procedurally generated dungeons"

It's been around 11-13 open positions in recent weeks.

A newish one is for a Camera Designer. I wonder what that is about, and whether this speaks for or against an isometric camera (which was still an undecided matter according to the Kotaku article late last year)? It's interesting to note that they mention "Experience with isometric cameras" as a plus.

Open positions for Diablo are down to 8, the lowest it has been a while.

Also, Kotaku reports that a Starcraft FPS has been cancelled and "many" staff members have been moved over to the D4 and Overwatch 2 teams.

There is also a rumor (I think via Kotaku) that D4 will be announced at Blizzcon later this year.
