    This is the end
    Beautiful friend
    This is the end
    My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be
    So limitless and free
    Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
    In a...desperate land
Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
    All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

Well, maybe not forever. I may manage to stop by every once in a great while, but most of my posts have been on weekends or during lunch break. We have switched to a different firewall, and the switch is being used as an excuse to tighten the allowable sites. Not only have they blocked Drudge Report, Ace of Spades, some YouTube functions, AND the Duckduckgo search engine, but they have blocked diabloii.net.

    I am gutted. Sincerely.

I do hope you will manage to find the time to visit here regularly in future ... enliven our discussions, enrich our lives and, personally speaking, continue to make me shake my head in wonder.

A favourite song of mine, by the way. I shall be beheading a cow in my head all day now.

So from now on, I will live in boring agreement with almost everybody? NOOOOOOO!

You could try to find a proxy which isn't blocked or maintain one yourself.

There are freebie VPNs that Merv could try (and maybe thereby deny access by DII Moderators to his posts, too! Yay!) ;)

I don't think that much work has been put into blocking proxies, but I'm not sure. That's admin business while mods are just middle management ;)

I'm away for less than 24 hours and y'all are already suffering massive comprehension failure? Only my work location is affected, though that's where I have free time (ahem).

I work for the Gub'mint, boys - I AM the LAW. Not like I could just use a proxy to bypass, and it's certainly not like I'd be setting the proper example if I tried... Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I could try to take up the jmerv torch of vehement disagreement.

You will be missed, so come back and visit!

I know that it's about your work only. You can still try find a proxy or maintain one which is accessible from there... or do you really want to work there?

Hasn't anyone heard from Merv at all?

Maybe he could find an internet-enabled machine in the local library?

Jmerv doesn't believe in supporting those socialist libraries.

Just look in the mirror, turn off the lights, and say his name 3 times...

    I double-dog dare you!

Post reported for inciting truly irresponsible behaviour. Someone could end up kilt this way!

Do I really have to spell out how this happens when you "try-this-at-home"?

So dramatic. What ever happened to going gently into the night, slipping away like a stranger, a ghost that fades before dawn? I'm waxing poetic here!

I'll have to come out from under the bridge and let my conservative flag fly. Maybe. But it's cold and windy up there and it's all nice and safe and warm under my bridge ... [emoji38]

Yes, the good thing of being in opposition is that you can demand lots of nonsense because it won't be done anyway, but pleases those people who don't notice the influence of wishful thinking on them. Just don't make it so outrageous that it's remembered for a longer time than its effect on the people.

What? Sorry, I think reading that has tied my brain in a knot ... ;)

Merv - why can't you just do the forum on your phone like a normal person? :p
