This is quite strange.

I think I may have accidently duped some items. But what is VERY weird is this. They were in my cube when I logged on, and I thought O hey my merc has a crown of thieves equipped, why is it in my cube, I check my merc and he DOES have one equipped. They aren't the same CoT. Different LL. And my frostburns are in my stash, and the cube, different stats. How in the WORLD did I get dupes of items with different stats? What do I do with them?

If they are different, your memory probably fails you and you forgot them in your cube. Dupes have identical stats.

There is no way my "memory fails me". Not on my main character. I think I would remember, lacking a SEVERE case of amnesia, getting duplicate drops of two items. Thats what is so strange, they are the same item, but different stats. They ARE dupes, and to add my account has been under "restriction" now for the past 24 hours... wtf. If blizzard bans me for accidently duplicating items I'm not going to be happy.

If they are the same item and different stats, they are not dupes. A duplicate would have the same stats.

Your dodging the real question at hand, and arguing over semantics.
TRUE: I did not get these items from a drop
TRUE: I had copies of these items on my character
TRUE: They "magically" appeared in my cube

They may not be "dupes" in the normal sense of the word, but they are copies of items generated from "thin air" unlike drops. Now as to WHY they are diffrent I do not know, and was curious if anyone who knew more about the mechanics of the system could explain what happened, and how they are dupes, but not dupes.

We don't discuss dupes here nor the mechanics of the system, if you'll notice our forum rules, we are against cheats and hacks. So along the same lines, the mechanics of the system are not going to get discussed here.
