I would recommend not venturing down in Hell with 500 life. My characters always aimed for a minimum of 1000 life when entering Hell. A lot of monsters could easily one hit ko you if you weren't patient enough (or just failed to block) and walked out too far. Saying that, even better for getting him to Guardian! Nice job.
I agree with most of the old posts made last year - Max block for a fishymancer is a no go for me. I have played both max vit and max block, and I could hardly stand the max block. The things that will hit you as a skelemancer are either weak physical, or cannot be blocked at all. And that's personal opinion based off multiple necros, twinked, untwinked, max block, and vit.
@japanzaman - by your statement, you don't use Dim Vision at all. I have numerous Guardians based solely around Dim Vision. Untwinked, and tournament rules. And each of them relied 100% on Dim Vision for crowd control - and it made them incredibly easy and safe. DV nullifies ALL damage (except the single unique/boss) before their AI has even been triggered.
