Things I hate about battle net diablo 2 realms

1. We all know this one, bots and cheats. Right now I'm trying to get a game going and I see practically none where people just want to play normally (quest/kill for xp or items) there are at least 5 or more bots running series's of Baal runs. I will eventually find one. I've tried creating my own, but no one joins. There is that message from May of 2009 that is still there saying that Blizzard does will not tolerate cheats. Why then, will they not ban cheater's CD keys? (no, banning their accounts is no good, they'll just make another and certainly SUSPENDING them is way too light of a punishment)

Why is Spam so rampant on the realms? There are games with spam titles, Spambots that join games to spam, and also spambots that send private messages to spam people. Again, why won't they ban spammer's CD keys? They won't make money if they have to rebuy the game constantly to make new spam accounts. Why not get thier IP's and complain to their ISP's as well?

2. The message you get when you enter says there are currently over (right now EST time 8:30PM) ten thousand games of Diablo II:LOD going on (is that just USEast) , then why can't you see more than 20 of them? No, I would not expect to see ALL of them, but a few hundred or thousand would be decent. Even better would be a find option to find games you actually want to join, based on thier title and difficulty.

3. I wish there were an option to choose which difficulty of games you want to view rather than just the one you are currently working on, or Hell if you've already finished it.

4. Wish you could highlight and drag over the items you want to show in your trade window, it sucks when you have to place 40 runes ONE at a TIME in it.

2. Most of the games are private

3. This should have been though like 10 years ago :D

Actually a way to filter games would be nice... (I know it has been done illegally).

I didn't know this. Are you saying that when you set a game with a password it doesn't even show up in the room list? Still with over 10K games going on, shouldn't I get at least more than what I am, so over 99% of games are private?

Though, I didn't think Blizzard would ever give the option to reset your stats and skills. Was there a lot of players wanting this?

1. There has and always will be bots and cheats, if a certain bot or cheat is patched there is always a way around it...this has been proven time and time again. Banning CD keys will do little good, as it is easy to obtain new cd keys without actually purchasing a new Diablo 2/Expansion. A banned cd key is more of an inconvenience for botters than a permanent solution. Same goes for spam bots.

2. Yes there may be 10 thousand, but I am fairly sure that goes for all realms and difficulties...including private games. So when you think about it that's really not that much.

3. I agree. I'm not sure how difficult this would be for Blizzard to implement, but it would be nice. Especially if you're playing through the game and accidentally get your baal Q and are stuck in hell at lvl 40 or 50.

4. Again, I agree. This would save much time when trading or xferring mass quantities of anything that only takes up 1 inventory space.

Unforunately there are many things we wish would change but never do. All we can do is wait and see.

Do you happen to know when it started? It hasn't always been around as long as diablo 2 has. So, it did take some time to implement. I'm guessing a CD key does not work JUST with the CD it came with, correct?

Not hard at all, check out the filtering program on youtube. Of course, you can't even use that, even though it not a cheating tool. Though, I don't know how this filtering tool shows you many more games than not having it does. I don't know why either, it's not supposed to do it, it's supposed to filter games by name.

I know I really don't have that much right to complain, well because D2 on bnet is 100% free to play, you don't pay for your accounts, so you really have no leverage to say "If this doesn't change I will cancel my account" because it wouldn't do anything but lower the server load.

I don't know, suppose Bnet didn't exist, period. I used to play Warcraft 2 on Kali and it had a hell of a lot of lag, almost none on bnet. But, there would still be alternatives to it if it didn't exist. At least for games Pre Starcraft 2 which you must be signed in even to play single player games. Do you know any other game hosting service that provides realms like bnet does for D2?
