There's nothing less attractive...

than a girl who will compromise any part of herself for attention. I'm sitting in a hot tub this weekend, and I couldn't enjoy a girl getting topless. She just had to stand up and talk about how her boobs are so cold before she does it. Then, this girl Christy...easy on the eyes and interesting. Then she has to say, "I'm a nympho. It runs in the family." to a group of 5 guys. Why do these people crave the attention so much? And furthermore, why is it that they generally use sex to get it. How bland.

it doesn't take much to get our attention

Guys do this aswell, pretty much every guy who's spent the time developing a muscular body and 6 pack finds an excuse to take his shirt off.

Get some classier friends to hang out with...someone who won't sell themselves for a cheeseburger and a place to sleep. I don't really know any slutty people...guess they are all to busy making reality-tv.

While part of me wants to berate you for complaining about a topless girl, I also agree with your general point.

It's similiar to the girls in college who get all dolled up on Friday/Saturday nights, go around to parties being about as provacative as they can be, and then ending up with a different frat guy (usually) every night. They're completely uninteresting. Yes, they are generally attractive. Yes, they are easy. However, usually the combination of the completely inane flirtatious banter and the scenes they make to get what they want turn me off far before anything would develop.

I hate people who seem to only be able to function when they are the center of all attention.

What's interesting about this is when you hook up with a few girls like this and later in your college experience wind up in a class with them and working on a project together, and you suddenly both come to the realization that the other person actually is smart and not a flake. I made a few friends in college that way; of course the hook-up can't have been awkward or bad.

Anyway, I agree that attention-whores are disgusting and frankly make me sick. I still won't turn down taking in those bare boobs though.

Heh, it's funny you mention that whole awkward hook-up experience because that's definitely happened to me a couple of times. I don't get terribly embarrassed about that sort of thing, so it's funny to watch the other person desperately try not to make eye contact with you in a class for a while, then just break down and actually act normal.

Your point is taken about the people who you end up being friends with later, but there are sometimes when the first impression of a person is too much to overcome. I can't stand it when people tell me "If you get to know [insert person's name here], they're really cool." That's the point. If I have to spend a lot of time with you just to realize that you're a decent human being, I'm going to think that you're pretty ****ty for putting up such a facade.

The one time I hooked up at a party, I wasn't drunk, but I was buzzed, the same for her. It was a horrible experiance, I've never talked to her since.

I agree that it's totally unattractive. When I see a girl blatantly putting herself out, it grosses me out and makes me repel her. Especially when they think it's cool to admit, loudly and proudly, that they're a "slut" or a "whore". It's like, wow, you should be so proud. At the same time I'm thinking "ok, so you're a big ho-bag. Why should I want to touch you when a) everyone else within a 5 block radius has tonight already, and b) when you're willing to do it with anyone which makes me feel oh-so-special and c) risk getting a disease from you. And yes, I feel the same way about guys who pull the same crap, but I obviously don't have the same invested interest in that.

Did any of you guys ever think for a second that there is a reason for this behaviour? Perhaps the girl has low self esteem and she's just trying to get attention. Good attention or bad attention is still attention to her. She's obviously trying to compensate for something. I don't think it's fair to judge a book by it's cover. I mean I have been there before where I was drunk and said some rather inappropriate things at the time thinking yeah I am just shooting the **** and then woke up in the morning and thought "ah crap did I ever make a fool of myself".
Some girls have been objectified all their lives by men, is it any wonder why they tend to behave in that fashion when it's all they know? Sometimes women think that's what guys want. Look at pornographic movies. "Oh here's your pizza, oh it's hot in here," *takes off shirt* I have been around crowds of guys who are completely lewd and crass and for some reason you have an excuse for it.
