Re: There WILL be a vampire class

the difference i am listening to what blizzard has told and shown us. just because the WD is related to the jungle does not make him green. Vodoo is evil which is dark. Your right though we are not garanteed they are following the color wheel. But there is no way a vampire is going to be a playable hero.

The thing is this thread really gives me a head ache, agin wrong forum, would be nice if a moderator would move this to the correct spot. you guys said they are hinting toward this. what are the hints? i would like to know.

I already stated fact that blizzard said all heroes would be human, so a va,pire would not fit into this. In basic Speculization there is a Dark Charecter, WD are primative and associated with the jungle, but the are ritualist and prastic the dark art of vodoo. The most common vodoo is associated with plague disease and pain, which to me is very dark and evil like. Like the necromancer is is a stretch to have the WD to be a good guy, but i am sure witht he lure they can back this up.

Please share what backs up you theory instead well they hinted towards it?

Re: There WILL be a vampire class

Not only are vampires evil AND undead, they are about the MOST evil of all known monsters. This creates a big problem if Blizzard tries to put some sort of good guy spin on it.

The necro was fighting for the forces of light in d2 and this seemed VERY forced and contrived. It became very akward to see skellies enjoying a paladin's holy auras. We had to keep reminding ourselves that the necro is supposedly a good guy, but we all knew in our hearts that a necro and paly working together was ridiculous and made little sense at all.

I would hate for a similar akward situation to arise in d3.

And, I don't recall if this is true, but isn't leech either going away or being nerfed bigtime for d3?

I think a vampire class could be pulled off, without any lore issues, if you view them more as humans with a slight mutation or virus infection, that grants them some other abilities and bloodlust (not necessarily for human blood). "The family" in fallout 3 springs to mind.

They would still be humans (sort of) but perhaps not fully trusted or accepted. Likewise they would not be considered demons and would still want to fight to protect sanctuary.

However blizzard like really strong archetypical names. You hear the name and you immediately get an idea what that character is going to be like. A Druid is expected to be close to nature for example and an assassin is expected to lurk in the shadows laying traps and all that. Vampire on the other hand is so strongly connected to the traditional view of an undead being that I doubt they would ever use something like that. Daywalker is really the only thing I could find somewhat plausible.

If I cant think of an archetypical name for a class there probably wont be one. But then again i might just be tired and my brain might not be working at the same capacity as the guys/girls at blizzard ?.
