Theoretical US purchase of the Mexican states of Sonora & Chihuahua

If Mexico were to offer to sell to the US their states of Sonora and Chihuahua, would you want the US gov't to accept the offer. And if so, under what conditions? For argument's sake, let's assume both were to be admitted as the 51st and 52nd states.

What implications, problems and benefits can you see with this?

    A little background info:
Chihuahua has approx 3.27 million people and a land mass of 95,400 sq miles.
Sonora has approx 2.26 million people and a land mass of 71,403 sq miles.
    Source
    More info

The land mass total is equal to 106,735,920 acres. At a rate of $2,500 an acre that comes out to $266,839,800,000. 266.8 Billion with a "B" dollars. Just to toss out a number so you can see what kind of money would be involved.

That would be a pretty good price.

But I think the US should contract and not expand.

What would the point be? Is there anything in that area you americans want? Seems like a pretty bad deal if you ask me.

I'd rather have B.C. and Alberta since we're hypothetically annexing our neighboors

Instead of sending $billions for fixing the unfixable in Middle East and $billions more to support Israel, why not divert some of those and purchase a chunk of land as mentioned above. Then move 6 millions Jews over.

And also divert some of the $billion contract to rebuild Iraq and use it give the Israeli a new infrastructure.

    That ain't hard is it?

    Purchase land. Relocate Israel.

No more reasons for them to blow our children up.

I remember seeing a thread a year or so back discussing about a theorectical location to relocate Israel. Some good suggestions there.

Anything is better than how the British Empire divided up the world. Look at Pakistan and India.

Anyway, there's hardly anyone there in Alaska.

Forcing people to move = bad. That Is The Final Answer.

As for buying other countries I would also much rather have Canadian land, its already developed city wise more than the most, if not all Mexican cities. Crime is less and we wouldn't have to worry about the millions of people moving there just before purchase. (If people were to be included in the deal.) Also buying people's homes like that the leader of the selling country would probably be shot on site by some radical insane person.

Something tells me there will be nukes flying over Washington before Israel is forcefully moved. There is no way to move Israel. For anyone. Can we just drop it now... please.
