    Sorry, but no.

I like the original too much, even after I recognized that Anderson is a skank and Duchovny gives Keanu Reeves a run for "actor most closely resembling a Larch". Even my wife & boy used to watch it, and I can't get my boy to sit still for Star Trek.

Speaking of wooden, I don't look forward to this, either:

I'll be pleasantly surprised if neither sucks so bad that they're cancelled during first season.

I'm very excited about X-Files - but I really hope Carter has the courage to bring closure to the invasion arc. There's no good reason to do a revival at all if the invasion arc isn't going to be center stage.

Season?! IIRC, the X-Files revival will consist of six episodes. Twin Peaks will have nine.

I am definitely. I'm glad the original duo is back and I hope they bring back Skinner too.

+1 for Skinner. I know that Mitch Pileggi was "offered a role," but that's all I've heard.

Concerning other side characters, it's a shame that there can be no Lone Gunmen. I absolutely loved those guys.

Not sure that AceofSpades has it right - his mention is not of a reboot, but a min-series capstone? If it's a capstone, I wish they'd look at Farscape... (Firefly/Serenity wasn't bad but it wasn't all that good either).

    Still, better than a reboot.

"Mini-series": yes. "Capstone": impossible to say until we can sit down and watch. In the case of Chris Carter, it would be a huge mistake to ignore the invasion arc and I'm confident enough to speculate that he won't ignore it. Whether we'll get a satisfactory resolution or just more smoke and mirrors, however, is debatable.

In David Lynch's case, it's best not to speculate at all! The man is brilliant, there's no doubt about that, and whatever he has up his sleeve, it'll be worth it - for Lynch fans (like me) anyway. I'm skeptical about mainstream appeal. The resonance the original run of TP had with the mainstream was pure serendipity IMO.

Much as I loved Farscape, it was an outrageously expensive series to produce and I'm not sure that anyone would be willing to take a chance on funding a revival.

It shouldn't have been... muppets don't have to be expensive, and SyFy seemed to have gone to the mat for far less worthy series.

My wife used to look like "Dorothy Vallens"...

If I was Rockne O'Bannon and I had a really good plan for a Farscape revival, I'd be shopping the idea to HBO, Showtime or Netflix. The brain trust at SyFy couldn't even manage to air the series consistently during its original run. Hell, they were the ones that pulled funding and brought the series to a premature end.

Seriously, the geniuses at SyFy should stick to the big money winners they've become known for (eg., Mansquito, Sharknado) and leave "lowly puppet shows" to less sensible investors... ifyaknowwatahmsayin'. ;)

There's a clip that I so want to share, but I can't. For those in the know, it involves a Roy Orbison song and an insane Dennis Hopper uttering one of my all-time favorite movie lines.

Why do you think I continued to discuss? Some of Hopper's best work, IMNSHO.

I said "look like" not "act like" for the record.

Looking forward to the return of ?X-Files? feat. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Hopefully the new series can bring back the atmosphere and quality of the first 4-5 seasons!

Since I don't have cable (I cut the cord many years ago), I'll have to have to figure out how I'm going to watch this. I wonder if it'll be shown on Fox's website or Hulu+.

I won't have that problem*. Just hoping next Game of Thrones is out again soon.

*I never liked Anderson. I like her even less now.

Not really. You want to see attractive, Google "Rachel Sterling". Boxcars full of charisma too.

Anderson, OTOH, is a miserable creature (particularly w/o hours of makeup).
