Without going thru 147 pages, what does the S/U column represent? And if one were looking to join this, what would be required in terms of posting updates or things to keep track of? I have a lvl 91 Necro that mostly untwinked (save for an ammy and some charms, I think), but in trying to keep the integrity of being completely untwinked I don't think that one qualifies here so I just started a new one last night that will be completely, 100% untwinked.

S/U column is total set and unique items found. As you can see, only some keep track of those, and of those (me included) some give up after a while. Me mostly because it was getting annoying and slowing me down.
So it's not required to keep track of those, nor is it required to do so for other stats like amount of time spent, number of deaths, grail status, ... , as you can see in the table.
What is required? Not much really. Completely unwtinked is definitely the biggest one, so good thing you started over, as the other one wouldn't qualify. Other than that nothing is really required, although it's obviously recommend to update the table once in a while, otherwise we'll get the impression you aren't running anymore and you might end up in the 'Resting Heroes' table. Next to that ... nothing really, although it is highly encouraged to share stories and pics about your progress and finds here, as that is half the fun of this challenge. But if you're for example not someone who posts often or are a person of many words, there is nothing wrong with occasional updates, mainly consisting of screenshots and/or a short summary of how you have been doing.

So GordonChen has embarked on this HC untwinked journey. I chose a Necromancer because I love playing them, and he has the best in-game comments by far. Anyhow, he is currently level 26 and just finished off Duriel. He'll be a Skellymancer with maxed RS and SM, no mages, and a clay golem (unless in hell I find something to make an Iron Golem out of, but being in HC I do enjoy the security the clay golem provides in terms of slowing opponents down). Yes to some revives (between hard points and + skills I always like to have at least 4-5, especially Blunderbores/Urdars when facing bosses), Corpse Explosion, and Bone Armor. Ancillary points in Terror (my escape route), Dim Vision (for archers), and Summon Resist. Eventually, a Might merc will join them somewhere in the Level 40s.
Act I was entirely uneventful, as was Andariel's drop:
In Act II, once I got the cube I rolled a Savage Polearm for my Prayer merc. The first roll was a useless Bardiche with lvl 40+ requirement (chance to cast Chain Lightning), but a second attempt yielded the following:
My wand is currently +1 RS, +2 Amp dmg, and my shrunken head is +3 SM, +2 Amp dmg. Other than Cleglaw's Claw and Isenhart's Lightbrand (which are both Charsi food by now), I had yet to see a green or gold drop....until Duriel, who is normally extremely miserly with me:
The Light Gauntlets are Iratha's Cuff, the belt is Arctic Binding, and the ammy (my only unique to date)? The Eye of Etlich - nice to get a +1 to all skills so early!
Early goings always involve a lot of mana potions, so the sooner I can get the materials for a Spirit or two, the better.

I have heard stories from patrons of a nearby tavern that there is a new hero who wishes to take up the challenge! Orion, a Paladin of Zakarum, has heard of the plight of the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye and is travelling to meet the displaced members that remain at their makeshift camp, though it is not known why he has made the journey alone, or even if he was commanded to do so.
I will be playing on /players 8 for as long as I can manage, which I suspect will be until Hell difficulty. I will also not be able to progress to the next map until I have cleared all areas within it, such as The Cave in the Cold Plains, and have defeated all super uniques that may reside in them (and opened the golden chests, as well), as the rot that has befallen Sanctuary must be cut from the healthy body entirely, lest it fester once more.
Is it still considered E/S if I mule my Paladin's self-found items out, but NOT mule those same self-found items back in? I imagine the truest experience is not to use ATMA/GoMule at all, right? Also, as I am still new here and unfamiliar with both customs of the SPF and of the more technical aspects, do I have to update the list of heroes myself with my character information regularly, or is that done for me? I don't yet know how to do that.

I should note that what you cited above applies to me as well....I just forgot to mention it.
I don't want to speak for the others, but to me as long as you are not muling those items back in for use by this noble Paladin, then I would think it would not be considered E/S? That you're only sending off items that only other twinked characters might use in the future?

You have to update the table yourself. It's not as difficult as ut may look. There is a terrific guide how to do it on the forums, and iirc it's even included in the first post here. But of course, let us know if you don't get it figured out.

My zealot has just hit 90! After battling in pits for the mfo going on right now I discovered I can handle p5 in about the same time as p3. I still haven't found a weapon mighty enough to replace my mighty scepter and the search is still on. I've been alternating between running pits for the XP/mfo and hell meph for the chance at a HoZ/stormlash/azurewrath. One of these days

Normal is now complete! Other than Sigon's gloves, Mephisto dropped rubbish, and his Soulstone yielded equal rubbish (Eld rune). After getting the River of Flame waypoint, I decided it was a good time to retool, so I shopped around for things to up my resistances, and then gambled the below-listed Beast Circle to improve my rings. Below were some of his notables (paired up with blues aimed at increasing resistances):
His resistances at that point were 74/75/71/21, so with 9 skeletons, a Clay Golem, and 2 revives in his army, he trekked forward at lvl 31 and managed the three seals and Diablo himself with relative ease thanks to Decrepify and the Golem. Act V proved to be pretty uneventful (the Ancients went down with ease as well), and took down Baal at lvl 41 (my two Mauler revives got dusted by Baal, but the skellies were strong enough by that point to handle his attacks):
Ilzan, tired and sweaty, looked pleadingly at me when he saw Baal drop The Skin of the Flayed One, so I smiled at him and gave him a nod, and he scooped it up quicker than leechers on a battle.net Baal run!
With RS maxed out, 10 hard points in SM, and single points in everything else needed to get Decrepify, Summon Resist, and Revive, GordonChen is now headed back to the Rogue Camp. It seems that while he was gone, the monsters regrouped and fortified their armies....
