The Real Issue with RoS (And DIII for that matter)

This isn't the first or last time this mistake has been made in this thread, but Diablo III was released for PC on 15 May 2012, so it's been out for over a year (and approaching two).
My bad on the date. That being said, even more the reason to have released a free large content patch/fixes long before now instead of charging fans but you see, as others have mentioned, Jay Wilson, Blizzard and Co. think that D3 was a SMASHING success because it sold ~12M copies (Mainly because of the D1/D2 legacy). They are still disillusioned that the game is awesome. And yes, the 2H comment is further proof of being out of touch :)

They've actually released a few "large content patches" and even more "fixes," all for free. Whether or not you thought that was enough is a different story, but it's not like they've been sitting on their hands. They've repeatedly fixed stuff and introduced new systems to varying degrees of acclaim.
That's a fair observation. I believe the same people that are satisfied with the "fixes" and "content patches" are mostly the same people that think D3 was a worthy entry in the series :)

I think I've just seen a lot of wasted opportunities and even a month before the RoS F&F Beta launched, I plopped down with my level 60 Wizard to give the game another chacce, played for a whole day and all I did was end up sorting through hundreds of worthless rares. Not a single Legendary drop or upgrade in a whole days time. I finally just gave up on the game at that point.. So "fixes" and "content patches" didn't serve me at all.

Those are longer, more elaborate versions of the events and cellars as rifts are terrible for both xp and loot.... mostly because they are random. Closest thing to a good random area is the crypt.... it's good mostly because it's easy to bypass the randomness and find it quickly. See how this works?
They are also still under development. Blizzard has directly stated that rifts are not rewarding enough and that they are working to improve it.

As for xp, all of RoS is terrible for xp. They are working to fix that too.

Furthermore, I never said I liked Rifts, just that they are random. Are you saying they are not random? No? Good, glad we agree.

Rifts are the worst though, mostly because there's one part of them worth doing (masses of goblins), and well.... that's random. Xpac XP was ok when you could spam cb at T6 speed farming but that's it.

Speaking of, did you know 3 kills on live with 5 stacks on MP 10 gives about the same bonus xp as one kill on T6? Difference is on live MP 10 you get big packs and can take em out quick with good dps, whereas T6 packs take a little while (not much shorter than bosses due to CB spam) even with amazing dps. And the packs are smaller.

As for "being in development", shall I break out the beta jokes? Or can we leave it at "that's what they said about classic"?

Ha ha! Well, all jokes aside, I don't think anyone can deny that the launch of D3V was pretty much a test all along. The AH dictated and affected a lot of the game especially loot and drop rates. Hence, it was a failed test/beta/sham whatever you want to call it..

Check out the latest summary of the podcast. It's not just me and Azzure folks. The only positive thing mentioned about RoS in the current state: Wizards are improving!

1:30 -- Blizzard Diablo 3 MVPs beginning to rebel at Reaper of Souls beta issues. Canaries in the coal mine? Has RoS gotten worse with each patch since the start of the beta?

6:00 -- Does it all boil down to insufficient legendary drops? Is the current system designed for long term, so it's not super fun for a month like the Diablo 3 console, and then boring since there's an orange/green in every slot? Why don't less powerful Legendaries drop much more often, while higher quality ones are the super-rare?

17:00 -- Crafting. Should crafted sets and legendaries help gear up to Torment?

19:40 -- The debacle that is yellow colored Legendary Crafting mats. How to fix the item spam issue? Return to unidentified Rares? Use the icon display system?

24:50 -- Anyone using a build-changing Legendary item and enjoying it?

29:00 -- New Infernal Machine discussion. Everyone likes the new Fire Nova proc effect. Should it be something different for melee vs. ranged attackers?

39:00 -- Huge amount of skill changes in the recent patch. Crusader is so new and different Xanth can't find a build he likes. Wolfpaq weighs in on Demon Hunter skills and builds, and the uselessness of ever dual wielding xbows with Quivers so much more valuable.

50:00 -- Frozen Orb is much improved and provides enjoyable D2 Sorc flashbacks. More variety in Wizard skills and builds now; the class is really improved in Reaper of Souls.

54:00 -- Experience gain woes in Reaper of Souls. Very slow leveling, no sense of character progression. Why is there nowhere designed to farm for EXP?

59:00 -- Why not different things to do for different purposes? Some things to do for exp, some for item finding, etc?

1:04:00 -- The terror that is Seigebreaker's Reflects Damage in RoS. (This seems to have gotten a hotfix since the weekend, since it wasn't an issue doing Ubers on Tuesday.) Reflects Damage on random Elites seems much less dangerous in RoS, though.

1:10:00 -- Flux checks to be sure they didn't forget to mention that Legendary Materials are yellow and the wrong color now.

1:11:11 -- Final question: How optimistic are you for RoS' quality with release in 2 months? 1-10? Wolfpaq says 2, Xanth says 5, Flux says 4.5.
