Is it still against the rules to advertise?

Hmm, but maybe it still like no one cares either. :)

What purpose would these forums have if you can't introduce new clans and new members?

    Hi Shambhala,

I took a look at your site and it looks rather fresh and just getting underway. I wish you success.

I read the rules about posting links and it looks like there is a rule there. Here's how they read.

"3. Thou Shalt Not Advertise. We do not intend to serve as a linking service or a search engine to other sites. Links that wouldn't be allowed anywhere on the forums (including signatures, and location) would be to links to sites (commercial OR personal) that have:

    1. Pornographic, racist or illegal materials, including game cheats or hacks
    2. Profit sites (any get rich quick sites). This is sites that earn the poster a profit/commission or sites that give points for incoming links
    3. Sites that are competitive to any of the fan sites here. It has taken many 'man' hours to compile the sites' content and as such our commitment to the promotion of that content is total. Neither do we allow visitors to use our forum membership as a means to build their own sites from, using our Private Messaging system to recruit writers and/or their content or membership drives for their own forums.
    4. Sites carrying ad-busting software "

It's number 3. I think a better way to do it would be to go to player matchup forum with a more subtle message. At least there you will catch fish that are biting and not the ones that just nibble. Here you're get more nibbles and a forum ranger that will probably pull your boat ashore. :surprise:

Thank you for your comments Wind. Catch me online sometime and we will chat. I usually hang out in Op Shambhala or a passiscs game, passiscs, passiscs2, passiscs3, etc.

Thank you for the informative comments. I am new to West and have to rebuild ladder characters since v1.10 made all my previous high levels non-ladder. go figure. Mine is not to question why, especially not the ways of the great Blizzards!

Why's your forum trying to send something across my browser?

    It must be firefox.

I'm not sure I know what you mean, it is giving you pop-ups? It isn't suppose to do that, Im sorry, that is why I use invisionfree forums, to avoid that crap.

Sorry, stop by the Forums and introduce yourself, than we can talk online.

Uhm, I am a member here for quite some time now, and as far as I know these forums have purpose enough without clans advertising themselves. If you must, you can go to the Player Matchup forum and advertise your clan over there. But do it, like mentioned above, in a more subtle way - this forum still has rules against advertising which are quoted above as well.

I think you should abandon the idea of a clan and make a guild. i don't know the difference.

I think guilds are supposed to use the (non-existant) guild halls.
