the joy of starting over

not long ago i quit D2 for a bit. I had a partner that worked well with me, i'd mf an he did all the trading. we had everything we'd ever need for 1.10 ladder and then some. we got bored. gave it all away.

Now i have started over all alone. no rushing, no mules full of gear to rely on. just me running solo and living by what i find.
My least fave Char up to now has been the pally. So of course i started my new D2 life as a pally. He's now lvl 63 and made it hell with no help from anyone. Using only what he's found on his way.

Sigons armor, gloves, boots and belt.
Tiamats rebuke shield with a pDiamond.
Butcher's pupil
raven frost and cathans rings. some rare cheesy ammy.

More fun than i've had in a while, nice challenge.

I've been trying to do that m'self, although I'm retaining some items for later on for my character.

What I really want to do, though.. is get 6 other people and quest the game from a1 norm to Hell Baal (no rush) using 1 of each character class.

Not sure how the times would work out so no one goes too far ahead, lags behind.. but if it worked I think it'd be hella fun.

working out a schedule for 6 people would not be easy at all.

Now i really am having a blast. Hell was a little tougher than i was ready for so i did some NM meph runs. I was a little shocked to see a Unique Gilded Shield drop. I was hoping to find some better gear and Meph provided a nice start. :yep:

Group games like that are a blast. You just set up a specific day of the week, with a specific time frame to play - and that's the only time you play that character. Some of us on East have done that, and it's really a lot of fun. We each have different builds/characters, and we play untwinked (using only what we find in the group game, no muling from other characters).

It's even more fun if you download a chat program like Team Speak - it runs in the background and doesn't interfere with the game. Then you don't have to type "Run Away" or "Cold Enchanted" etc... you can yell it as you run away

That's how I was thinking of arranging it. The only thing is I would mule one thing.. I just got Nat's full set which I wanna use on a MA 'sin (Didn't give her anything but that and some claws. I think that would be one thing I would tweak, no muling unless you have a full set OR class-specific items only).

Hmm.. I may have to hop over to the player matchup forum and try this out.
