So the journey endeth.
A brief account of events follows.
While fighting our way to the arcane sanctuary, I was fortunate enough to have Izual drop an ort rune, completing my ancients pledge kite shield, thus ensuring plenty of resistance against the comming epic battle against Diablo.
The journey posed no real threat to any of my party, the wolves fierce as ever, my rogue mercenary equipped with a brand new rare bow with the, seemingly magic, chance to cast amplify damage on any foe who stood against us, ravens as ever hungering for the sweet juices of demonic eyeballs.
The seals were broken, a few fights broke out as monsters appeared, they were slain when spawned. Diablo finaly made his appearance.
At first the battle seemed to pose no threat, Diablos health slowly but surely withered away. Suddenly I found myself in the middle of a continuos stream of lightning, I took a revitalizing drink feeling better immediately, the lightning reappeared, the wolves were dead, ravens gone, merc all but incapacitated. I tried again to find a potion to get my strength back, somehow I got confused and switched from my cracked dagger and shield to my bow instead. I suddenly had no resistance whatsoever against the powerfull lightning.
The first near death experience turned out to be an actual death experince. I hope my deeds will be remembered.

rare helmet - Used the imbue quest on a pelt to get something to wear, 27 cold res +1 fissure, 10 fhr and 2! sockets
Low quality weapon - perk 1 upgraded to normal - perk 3 upgraded to superior - 2 sock superior long bow
magic amulet - alternating between +7% res all and +1 elemental to boost my +1 fissure from the pelt. It actually still does a decent amount of damage, even
in late act 3 on /p8

unique ring - none (duh!)

superior belt - superior light belt 9% ed for a whooping 4 def.
ethereal boots - ethereal 13% edura superior light plated boots
set items gloves - perk 2 downgraded to rare - 16 fire res, 18 cold res, ar, +2 str, half freeze, 8 mf heavy gloves
Weapon switch: low quality - crude dagger
Shield switch: socketed - 3 sock kite shield (ancients pledge)
