    The Heisman Watch Thread

If Troy Smith beats Michigan on the 18th, there's no way they don't give him the Heisman, but don't overlook these guys:

    Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
    2006 Season Stats:
    Passing: 2,786 YDS | 29 TD
    Rushing: -41 YDS | 2 TD
    4 INT | 64.4 CMP%

    Ray Rice RB Rutgers
    2006 Season Stats:
    245 ATT | 1,334 YDS | 15 TD
    5.4 AVG | 63 LNG
    4 REC | 30 YDS | 0 TD

    Mike Hart RB Michigan
    2006 Season Stats:
    278 ATT | 1,373 YDS | 10 TD
    4.9 AVG | 54 LNG
    13 REC | 122 YDS | 0 TD

    Colt Brennan QB Hawaii
    2006 Season Stats:
    Passing: 3,753 YDS | 43 TD
    Rushing: 266 YDS | 3 TD
    7 INT | 72.9 CMP%

    Steve Slaton RB West Virginia
    2006 Season Stats:
    181 Att | 1,363 YDS | 12 TD
    7.5 AVG | 65 LNG
    14 REC | 165 YDS | 0 TD

    Ian Johnson RB Boise State
    2006 Season Stats:
    222 ATT | 1,466 YDS | 21 TD
    6.6 AVG | 59 LNG
    6 REC | 51 YDS | 0 TD

It's a shame that Colt Brennan plays in the WAC, because he's putting up absolutely SICK numbers. Last night he had 404 yards and 4 TD's on LA Tech. Not bad for 3 quarters of work.

Nominate anyone else that you think is worthy of Heisman talk. Discuss.

Troy Smith could win, even if MI beats them. If he has a good game, he'll get it.

It's just gross that Darren McFadden isn't on your poll.

    Arkansas Running Back
    1219 Yards
    12 Touchdowns
    6.2 Yards per Carry

AND he has to step aside every now and then for Felix Jones to get in the game.

Fixed? There's always the folks who aren't in the top conferences who put up great numbers. But they play teams that don't have such solid defenses so the offense remains generally untested.

He has a combined 738 yards and 7 TD's against Boise State and Bama, who aren't exactly terrible.

I can't please everyone. The RB's on my poll have better numbers than him(with the exception of Mike Hart, who is a media darling), and I don't see how he deserves it over them.

Of course, he didn't win either one of those games, which doesn't exactly help his cause.

    Can't blame him for it.

My point is more that Rice and Johnson have put up those better numbers against 1 decent team combined, while McFadden missed most of the first game against USC, plays in the SEC and still runs roughshod over everyone.
