Before the GOP fanboys leap in here, I'll be the one to note that the PATRIOT act was passed quite handily by a bunch of both Republican and Democrat politicians.

That said, it's always a sign of great things in government when the political leaders of an entire nation take their debate cues from Bill O'Reilly.

And I'm sure all the involved Democrats wanted to do was have a calm, peaceful little conversation. Obviously, they're blameless.

I am not a fan of O'Reilly. I would puke if political leaders listen to him. Not that I don't think he can have some good points. But I can find better ways to spend my time than listening to him. Rush is 100 times worse I should add.

I couldn't care less about their antics. It's sad that sides always have to be taken. As Durf said, both parties passed it; why is there always a split? This is why I don't like politics.

Yea, but when it was written up and the feelings then, they could have put anything in it, slapped a 'patriot act' badge on it and it would have passed.
Anyway, kinda funny how they storm out and the democrats are left sitting there shouting and ranting. Politcs is great fun when these kind of thing happen.

Up a creek without a paddle

The Democrats don't have a leader and the Republicans smell blood in the water. Until the Democrats can field a leader that can stand up to the bullying of the radical wing of the GOP, we are going to be stuck with "you disagree with me? Shut up!"

Oh wait, let me modify the demo line - you disagree with me, therefore you are a radical and a bigot.

What I said came from all the Republicans in the House, and yours comes from where?

First off I find it hard to believe that those exact words were said by any of the Republicans in the House, even if that was the vibe given off by the walkout.

If you want to compare Republicans to Bill O'Rielly, then I will compare Democrats to Al Franken who happily has two books named, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them : A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right" and "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot". Regardless of the fact that both of the titles are supposed to be spinoffs of phrases used by Republicans, I find it hard to believe that anyone could read either book and honestly believe that Franken doesn't 100% believe both of these to be true. Assuming that is the case, Garbad's Democrats line is about as accurate(or inaccurate depending on your point of view) as your Rupublican one.

My quote is based on the actual GOP, elected law makers. You are saying Garbad's quote is right based off Democrat Pundits. If you want to bring pundits in by all means do, I'll have a field day.

That would mean Zell Miller, right? No, wait, Evan Byh? Uh, Joe Lieberman? How many guesses do I get?

Can you conservatives defend your party or is it always, "Well, Democrats do this!"

No, we usually don't start off ad hom right away, that tends to be the hippie role.

What's your problem? The meeting ended and the Republicans left.

As much as I hate political threads, I would have to say your first post in this thread was a shining example of some hippy-like behaviour right there, at least according to you, Garbard.

It seems both sides are acting like a bunch of feces-hurling monkeys and justifying it by saying the other side is doing it as well.

For the most part yes, I can defend my party. I do not however agree with every single thing about it.
