The good 'ol Mexicans....
Just face it guys, your country sucks at life.
I admit this was in extremely bad taste, but two things many Americans don't quite get:
Most soccer fans are a lot more vicious than we're used to
The American-Mexican rivalry in international soccer has really heated up in the last decade or so, so you can expect both sides to be unusually vicious even by soccer standards
Not that I condone what they did or anything, I'm just saying I'm not surprised.
I mean did you see the elbows Mexican and American players threw at each other in their last game against each other in the last World Cup? It was like a WWE match or something.
You think that is bad? try going to a soccer match in Los Angeles when a Mexican team squares off versus an American team. You see illegal Jose hoisting an American flag and then stompping at it. My teacher told me he saw a groups of "border hopping bastards" pour what looks like a cup of yellow liquid on the American flag.
I wish I had a magical rod of deportation for situations like that.
Why is Mexico so shitty anyway? With their oil reserves, they should be able to umm...not be a shithole anymore.
Maybe if they weren't too busy trying to come to America to make their own country better? I hope that doesn't sound racist... I'm actually Latin.
That's always bugged me as well. They theoretically have everything you need for a successful capitalist economy: large nation, lots of people, lots of land, lots of natural resources and one of the most motivated work forces on the planet.
I really, really wish I knew what's gone wrong, but I'm sure whoever figures it out will get rich.
Well hello Mr Stereotype, how are you?
I'm fine, and you?
Oh ok, I was just reading something where people were making blanket statements about an entire nation because of rowdy soccer fans.
That's really awful. Hey I know, let's go to some other nation with pictures of rednecks or drug dealers and then get mad when other nations say the same about us! Won't it be fun?
Sounds like a plan Mr Stereotype, I'll go get the car.
Google "pemex corruption".....and you shall see the light.
People talk about how corrupt US corporations are but what happens in the US is nothing compared to what is accepted as standard business practices around the world.
I don't see any blanket statements being made about an entire nation. I'm dumb tho, so point them out to me?
How is that more worthy than "something you were reading" of critisism than 1500 people burning flags and praising a terrorist because of a few atheletes who are better than them?
OHHH yesss, thats right, its OUR fault...
Never said there were
Oh, okay. Whoops!
Is it illegal to burn the flag? I can never remember
I don't think you can even let it touch to the ground, so yeah burning the flag should be illegal.
surely its not in mexico. I mean really, what better way to thank your neighbor for all the money we send in aid and allowing them to flood into our country than to burn the flag and yell osama because they have a shitty soccer team??
By yelling osama they are practically saying "We are happy when americans die".
Thanks a lot, asshat!! and then people wonder why people say bad things about them. not just wonder, but scold US for it!
I don't rember the "letter of the law", but I believe in the fashion that they where burning the flag it is illegal. The time that it is legal to burn a flag is when the flag is old/worn, and it needs to be disposed of. Burning of a flag is acceptable in that case and I believe the only legal way to dispose of one.
Does the government pay farmers so they can compete with Mexican prices? Or did I just make that up?
No, that is still a protected form of expression under the First Amendment, although there have been many misguided attempts to change this.
Sure, you may get your *** kicked for doing it, you may get arrested for "incitement to riot" or some kind of BS like that, but you WON'T be arrested for burning the flag.
The REAL tragedy here is that Canada lost the game.
