The Fuzzy Dodger Builld: Fun for the entire family

The Fuzzy Dodger (name is a trade mark of nastyx inc):

Hiya. This is a build that will have all the various jerks in Pubby Games going HUH??

I give you: The All Passives Bearazon!

This of course means getting a Beast weapon...

So why did I build this char?

Well in v1.09 I had a sort of fun lvl 92 pvp Fury Cryptic Sword/shield amazon. It sucked, couldn't kill anything and was HELL to lvl in cows.

Then came ladder and as I got bored with D2LoD I tried the char out again... This time using a Flesh Ripper. This was on Ladder and I was not really that

rich, so the gear was cheap and sucky.

Ladder Season One ended and I decided to rebuild both chars and make it kick butt... This is how I did it:

Gear:

PvM:

Chains of Honor Archon Plate for the resists and skills
Crown of Ages for the FHR, Resists and Damage Reduced
EtherealSandstorm Treks for the FHR, Str/Vit and such
Rare Belt with 24 FHR, Str and Life or use Verdungo's
Dual Angelic Combo + amulet
Beast Caduceus for the bearform, the fanatiscism and the speed
20 Ias/+2 Passives Gloves (mine also has 5% Bonus to AR, 7 dex, 26 Cold res and 5 light radius)
Stormshield with Um
9 Passive Skillers with life and one with FHR to get to 86%
9 20 life sc's
CtA and Lidless on switch
I get 7 fps speed with this setup and this is needed to get shots in against fast hitting chars

PvP Gear
only a little difference but here goes:

Duress Armor for the Open Wounds, Crushing Blow and 40% FHR
Gore Rider: For the Deadly Strike, Open WOunds and Crushing Blow

Other than that I just stick to my normal gear. I lose the one FHR charm and use a life passive skiller instead, though.

Skills:

All Passives!!!!!

This is what makes this char a bit special. You have no damage skill and you have no skills that boost Attack Rating other than penetrate.

So I did this:
Max Critical
Max Penetrate
Max Dodge
Max Evade
Avoid to get 60+
Max Inner Sight

This gives me:
62% Dodge
63% Avoid
62% Evade
74% Critical Strike

This makes it a char that is VERY hard to kill.

Stats:

Str for Gear
Dex for Max Block with Storm
Vit gets all the rest
Nrg: Just put in 1 point here to be a cheeky bastard

With my setup I get Max Block, Max Damage Reduced, Good FHR, 7 FPS Attack Speed and 5000!!! Life and 3.3k defense
This is achieved with Life Skillers...

I know this build sounds expensive but the charms are pretty cheap and the gear too, really.

She is a build for melee PvP and has taken down Fury Druids, Pure Kicksin, Pure WW-Sins, WW Barbs, Jabazons, Frenzy Barbs, Conc Barbs and such.

She still gets her ass kicked by great chars and smiters, but this is not a high damage build...

So what IS the damage on this baby???

764 - 872!! with 17.7k AR

This is very low, so don't expect to kill fast. This char stands her ground, seldom gets hit and whacks away at great speed.

I hope this can persuade more people to make a Fuzzy Dodger... She is the Abrams Tank of Modern Day Diablo II.

Have fun
Regards Sonnich

PS: Going to upgrade this later on with strats, options... So I am taking suggestions in PM from experienced Pee Vee Pee Geeks

thanks, mate. I have discussed this char with a lot of people and most called me a crazy jack off. She is a bit slow on the run/walk thing to catch casters and ranged attackers...but I am going to tinker with that. Of course you'll need different gear for different opponents, but I mostly just stand there and wait for people attacking me ;)

LOL this a fricken awesome idea. Too bad Im too poor and lazy to find the runes from a beast other wise I would end up making this or other funky werebears. Its fun having puppies going you cant do that your not a<insert class that you acting like> you are <insert class that you are>.

Just one little thing. The 20 IAS on your gloves does you no good. When you are in were form theonly IAS that maters is that of the weapon.

That was what I thought too, but I have made comparisons in speed and I still get what seems like 7 fps. Otherwise it would be 8. It could be me who is mistaken, though. In my tests for this char I made myself af BotD Phase and the 7 fps is essential, really. Otherwise you get dodge/block lock and can't get a punch in. Still... I might be wrong

Heh heh, I have a guide in the works for such a build. Werezons can hit 4 frames you know, the all around freindly Grisworld Caducues. I belive this build has a nice place in the D2 world.

Actually I HAVE tried to kill baal solo. I spawned him after an 8-player game and took him down in less than 2 minutes. Not that fast, but 74% Critical Strike really works wonders. I know about the 4 fps attack speed, but I decided against it.

I was pretty amazed to find out that the dodging skills work in wereform and it does seem a bit bugged. It looks like you shapeshift when you dodge attacks. I haven't experienced desync from it, so it ALL good.

When fighting most of the time Dodge, Avoid, and Evade won't interupt your attacks so thats a plus. Only real concern about being in bear form is your block and hit recovery speeds. Also the animation for dodgin would be unshift dodge and reshift. Since your attacking it won't bother to do all that constantly.

Hey great idea/build! Lets say you use a beast weapon as bear prebuff and use a grief pb as main - dat would hit 6fpa bear attack and wouldn't that add up more dmg and some ds too?
