The FrostaShockaDin!!!!!

The zealot is my personal favorite build of any class in the game. And after making both a Holy Freezeadin and a Tesladin, I became weary of the slow killing speed of immunes for both of those categories. So I created the new and improved FrostaShockaDin.(My personal favorite name of any build out there) It may not kill with the speed of hammers, or smite with the power of... well smite, but there is one thing that this build does well. It has the power to kill solidly every character in the game.(I have never seen a Light/Cold immune monster, so if you find them, well you are screwed... get a good merc) The build is relatively straight forward, taken mostly as a mix from the Tesla and Holy Freeze Zealots.

20 Zeal
20 Sacrafice
20 Holy Freeze
20 Holy Shock
20 Salvation
1 Holy Shield

Unless there is demand for it, I am not planning on adding to this idea with stat placement and gear. For now the best place to look for those is by checking the other zealot build threads.
Frostadin
Tesladin(Holy Shock)
Zealot(Fanatacism)

I used this build for running the ladder, although quite late, and even with relatively untwinked gear, I was still killing at good speeds with no problems.

good luck to all.

It is, and it sucks compared to the teslafroster. What you are SUPPOSED to do is take the points you put into zeal and sacrifice and put them into resist lightning and cold for way more damage, at the only expense of leach.

If you do pure elemental damage, you'll be a lot more effective in hell, and eq demands are not as difficult to meet.

Phil,

Have you thought about going this route instead:
5 Zeal
20 Holy Freeze
20 Holy Shock
20 Salvation
20 Holy Shield
Rest in Resists for synergies

This way you have big defense form Holy Shield, decent damage form your elemental attacks, and still have max number of swings from zeal. Hope it helps.

1 in zeal would suffice, any kind of +skills would put it at slvl 4, which is what we need. 20 holy shield is not required, something like 5 holy shield would mean enough spare points to max synergies.

Again, it's a teslafroster.

I agree with space_loner on all of this.

Just try to get a HoZ... instantly puts your zeal up to the right level.

And all of that holy shield really isn't required... I go into every pally build promising myself I'll max it, and it always gets between 5-10 tops. Damage is a little bit more important. Why let them hit you in the first place?

i recommend

1 zeal
20 Holy Shock
20 Holy Freeze
20 Resist Cold
20 Resist Fire
20 Salvation

The good thing about the synergies is that they have no pre reqs. So getting 1 pt in holy shield is viable by level 90ish. And +skills will boost that up to a nice level.

As for gear the best setup would be

CMPB
nightwings OR griffons (assuming ladder on griffons)
15/15 light/cold ormus w/ useless skill
hoz
bk ring
mara's
ravenfrost
verdungo's or arach mesh
sandstorm treks
draculs grasp or 20% ias gloves

I just hate having to choose between griffons and nightwings. theyre both so perfect for this build. I lean towards nightwings though because of the +2 all skills/20dex and absorb. nice def too.

I'd say aim for the helm that helps your main attack the most. If you want to focus mainly on holy shock, go for Griffons, if you want to focus primarily on holy freeze, go for nightwings. However, I'm sure you won't go wrong with either.

id really have to say nightwings over griffons now cause the damage on holy shock is pretty high as it is and its damage is very wide ranged. while nwings will pretty much be boosting your min damage just about as much as your max for cold since its so tight.

it would be great if you could choose what gear slots got changed on switch. if you could make it so that just helm and weapon got switched, you could use both. well technically you can use both but i doubt anyone would like to run around with a helm on switch in their inventory the whole time.

Seems to me the Teslafroster would be a good build and can deal with many different monsters. The only problem I see is with only one point in zeal with equip boosting zeal the rest of the way your AR would suffer quite a bit. Might have to wear angelic rings with ammy. Just my opinion

do we have to go through the Either-Get-ITD-or-use-a-4x-eth-rune-weapon-as-a-lazy-attempt-to-get-around-needing-AR-unless-we-want-to-wear-angelic-and-hire-blessed-aim-mercenary-for-decent-hitting-chance discussion all over again ;D

nightwing is probably better than griffons for +skills and other mods. And since the two can be attained today for about the same price now one might as well get nightwing's
