No, they are great people (my mom and step dad). They are just conservative and bossy. Other than that everything was just fine. I just really wanted my independence, and I was making enough money to live on my own, so it was pretty hard not to do it.

Fair enough, my folks gave me a lot of freedom so I stayed there for 2 years after I graduated (paying a little bit of rent). The location was great for work (walking distance) and it meant I could save a lot of money. After 2 years I had enough for a deposit and bought my current place.

Sometimes I wish I had saved some money, but I was young and stupid, what can I say. My mom was mad that I moved out, too. I don't think she thought I was capable of moving out, so she was really surprised when I told her I was moving out in less than a week :p

Before. I moved out a few months after I graduated high school. I lived there about 4-5 months before we got married.

orgasmo has some of the best quotes ever for a movie. most of my favorites i cannot say here though
me too! XD one of my fave scenes is when he is talking to that older woman and she is the only one in the area capable of... handling a lot, if you know what i mean. ;)

I hate when my sister is getting drunk with a dozen of her friends downstairs. I wanna grab some food. But i can't.
Cus then I'm bound to bump into someone and I don't like that.
how old is she? i hope you got munchies! :D else, i would've gotten them for you. ^_^

Well I am glad that I don't have to deal with my sister everyday. We didn't really get along when we were living in the same house. Now that we only see each other ~once per week we get along a lot better.
same with me and my mother! living together, we always bumped heads and got into some pretty heated fights too. and we look back and some of them are hilarious like the time we were fighting about something and then my step-dad told her, "Well, i guess this is a bad time to tell you Leo is failing her science class." XD

and man, i AM a late bloomer! i didn't move out until i graduated with my AA and that was two years ago. i didn't go to school right away. i worked as a waitress and there was no way i could live on my own making what i was making! besides, i wasn't ready, my mom didn't charge for rent, but i helped pay for the bills, insurance, groceries, etc. and then i finally got into school, and when i was close to being done with school, i told my mother i was going to live with Mara. oh, she did not like that.

she did not like the fact that i was living with a guy before marriage. my mother is very "old-school" and i made a promise to her not to live with a guy before getting married. well, at the time i had forgotten about it... i vaguely remember it now, but i remember the "Don't get married until you have your degree!" promise...

Parents remember everything, and sometimes I think they remember things that never happened as well...

My wife didn't move in with me until after we got married, I'm like your mom I guess XD

maybe? hehehe! she lived with my step-dad for six years until they got hitched so why the hell couldn't i? :coffee:

i feel like a vegetarian. i've been lunching on tortillas, refried beans, and some kind of non-meat. today's lunch was: rice and bean tortilla with some homemade cheese sauce, broccoli and cheese sauce. about to make some more tacos and get some veggie salad: cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, cilantro, green onion, italian dressing.

Eat some meat! Its good for you.

The wife and I decided the other day that we had no idea what we were doing when we got married, so maybe she just wanted you to not do what she did.

do you mean my mother or your wife? lol!! probably. but i think im doing pretty good. she wants me to live before i settle down and have a ring on my finger. i can agree with that and i am having fun so far.... ok, at least for about 75% of the time. :) maybe 80.

I knew what I meant, what else matters? Yes I meant your mom.

It is now a day later. You may calm down now. I've eaten.

I would very much like to move out of this house but since I'm gonna be very poor after buying a new PC I'll most likely stay with these people for at least another 3-5 years. And I won't be disciplined enough to not spend all my cash on junk food. Cause I do deserve that Pizza.

It's okay, indulge in some pizza at the expense of your freedom xD

If its going to take you 3-5 years to recoup the money you spent on that PC; its either way too nice of a PC, or you don't make very much money.

Oh, man, vegetarians are delicious, especially the bovine kind!

It's going to take me 3-5 years when frequently spending money at Pizza. Besides I will probably be able to stand my family considering I am a master of avoidance.

Its not so bad if you don't have to see them. I am a natural saver (read tight), so moving out was easy for me.

I was fairly tight when I moved out. I worked for ~2.5 years to save up for a deposit (saving ~ 60-70% of my salary) and then moved out. I have been living in my place for a little under 2 years now.

My fiance does not live with me, her folks don't want her to leave home until she is married. That said she comes over every night after work, I just take her home so she can sleep :)

Yeah, sometimes I wish I still lived in an apartment. There are so many more expenses with a house, it's crazy sometimes.
