Well I think what was being said was, kill the Pally, make him a minion...

A minion of a minion. How odd.

Anywho:

We travelled hard and ran all night
For many days we made our flight
For soon, we knew, we'd find our foe
Enslaving him our only goal

At last we approached him, we knew he was near
And then I sensed something, that gripped me in fear
Not one, as we first thought, was wandering hence
But two vile Paladins. It didn't make sense!

We decided to wait and let them come to us
I lit a campfire for my sweet Succubus
Soon they approached, and I put on a grin
Be it two or two hundred, they were just Paladins...

A whatta, a whatta, a jiggy-jiggy NEXT?

WAIT! Stop the presses, i'm confused.

If the first meeting that the palladin twins had with the witch was with the campfire scene, who killed the original paladin in the beginning of the story? Wasn't it Thrall's wife?

Not exacly what I meant, orignally I was refering to the succubus killing the paladin at the beginning of the last story. But hey, whatever works, right?

Darn it, I forgot. I'll have to edit that one:

Scratch these:
At last we approached him, we knew he was near
And then I sensed something, that gripped me in fear
Not one, as we first thought, was wandering hence
But two vile Paladins. It didn't make sense!

We decided to wait and let them come to us
I lit a campfire for my sweet Succubus
Soon they approached, and I put on a grin
Be it two or two hundred, they were just Paladins...

Replace with:

We entered a force, and decided to split
We'd have two times the chance of finding the git
And as I crept onward, I knew he was near
Then I heard far-off screaming; a Paladin's fear

I crashed through the bushes, and finally found
The Paladin lying near dead on the ground
My Succubus wife was for some reason burning
I panicked and smothered her, forgetting my yearning

For the death of the Paladin; my love conquered hate
Of more import was my dear wife's mortal fate
And when 'twas extinguished, I turned 'round to see
The Paladin vanished, somehow he had fleed.

There, that makes more sense.

I'd like a "Done" stamp on this by May, because that's the end of Spring Semester and my regular internet access for the summer.

What? Why is everyone looking at me? ... oh.

We needed a plan,
That much was clear.
To destroy the paladin,
And capture his fear.

I could tell he was in town,
But we could not touch him there.
For it had protective enchantments,
And that’s no way to play unfair.

We needed some bait,
As I healed my dear wife.
To draw the paladin out,
So I could strike him with my knife.

You're gonna make me late for class...

He was merely a novice, unarmed and half-trained.
A treacherous gift could cause him some pain...
I appeared as a helper, and gave him a blade,
A sword cursed by those whom its master betrayed.

This was the blade that the Warrior had found
While hunting Diablo deep underground.
Indeed, it had cut down the dark Demon lord,
Whose blood had corrupted this heaven-wrought sword.

It called forth the demons that followed his trace
As the Dark Wanderer went forth from the place.
As the witch Adria fell where she stood,
She cursed it, made it thirst for its own master's blood...

He held out his hand to accept the bright blade.
I moved quickly, before he'd know he was betrayed...

Oh, come on, you don't mind so much. Well, maybe you do, but meh.

The fool had followed me,
From the poor growing sap.
And he trusted so easily,
He fell right into my trap.

After adding a shield,
From my necromantic wonder,
I summoned some beasts,
And this proved to be my blunder.

He slew the first two,
In spite of his arms.
But his wisdom prevailed,
And did not the clone harm.

The replica I created,
Was to finish him off.
For whoever did win,
Would also himself snuff.

But he sheathed his dark weapon,
And the clone did the same.
My great master trap,
Had been lain to shame.

And then an Angel came down,
And broke my connection.
Before I could recall the clone,
He was permanently set in this dimension.

I struggled to send him back,
But he was no loner mine.
My Iron Maiden spells,
Would soon fade with time.

Now there were two of them,
Imbued with the light.
And the angel told them then,
That it is I that they must fight.

I had overstepped my bounds,
But I hardly cared.
Heaven’s glory or not,
I had plenty of power to share.

We both retreated then,
My dear wife and I.
We drew a dark circle,
And to the spirits cried.

If we could not fool this man,
Than perhaps direct was the way to go.
We summoned the darkest of powers,
And added a blood golem in tow.

I brought into myself,
The powers of the night.
From vampires to werewolves,
Anything that caused mortal fright.

My succubus as well did indeed grow stronger,
She swelled and blossomed as the dark spirits found her.
For weeks we did sit, and took up hell’s power.
Then we set out to make the two paladins cower.

We started our search where they last had been seen,
But the two were long gone (seems they weren't that green).
I spent a few moments in thorough inspection.
Old traces, but pointing in a still-clear direction.

We followed this trail for days upon end
Until it disappeared at the road's eastern bend.
Disgusted and frustrated, we stopped to rest
Until daylight would show us which way would be best.

A sudden shock woke me, but still I feigned sleep.
A noise, as if something outside our camp creeped.
I looked up - the Paladins had just walked right in!
I stood up and faced them with my best evil grin...

Sorry I haven't helped out very much. I've been tired, and not in the mood for writing.

Or reading anything really. I'll try to write a part soon.

I'm gonna need to research what happened in the Pally one... And then maybe I'll contribute some more.

Go flame someone else Mercenary. This isn't poetry, it's a story told with thrythm and rhyme.

"You've been looking for me," I said with a smirk.
"I have powers you see." They prepared for the worst.
I rose and gave shout, "I'm the most powerful of all!
And you'll be my minions! Or my name's not Thrall!"

I sent forth a Bone Spear, and hammered them hard,
One Paladin fell, his armor in shards.
I waited and watched as the other crouched down,
And fed him a potion, then rose with a frown.

Exactly, some components have meters but these generally seem unintentional, that is, they were just happened upon by luck rather than manufactured by talent. The majority, however, have no meter at all. For instance here is the meter of one of your lines proudfoot: / / / u / / u / u u /. "I sent forth a bone spear and hammered them hard."

As you can see it has no meter whatsoever, even the most ridiculously over-varied meter could not conform to that structure. And as for your mocking derision of my supposed memorization of terminology I would challenge that you must not pay a terrible amount of attention in English class (or are enrolled in the most remedial of courses) to not know those terms yourself. And, isn't it a bit hypocritical to not pay attention to the poetry they teach you if you're a wouldbe poet yourself?

In any event, it has been asked of me that I not participate in this thread any longer and I intend to honor that request. This will be my last post in this thread so please do not address any further posts to me in particular.
