The Big 12 South tie throws the BCS into a quandry
The final results of this week's Big 12 South college football games are in:
Oklahoma (11-1) wins a shootout at Stillwater against the 11th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys 61-41. Texas (11-1) beats lowly Tx A&M at home 49-9 . Tx Tech (11-1) escapes with a win over Baylor 35-28.
It's a three way tie for the Big 12 South title for Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.
Looking at head-to-head games this season: Tx Tech beat Texas 39-33. Texas decisioned OU at Dallas 45-35. Oklahoma creamed Tx Tech 65-21.
Therefore, choosing a head-to-head winner as the Big 12 South Champ leaves much to be desired as: Oklahoma > Tx Tech > Texas > Oklahoma
Per the Big 12 rules, the Big 12 South winner will be selected tomorrow based on their BCS ranking. They will subsequently play the Big 12 North winner (Missouri) in the championship game next week. If victorious, the Big 12 South winner will almost certainly play in the the BCS championship game in January for the national title.
Voters in the polls and a computer will make the decision on Sunday afternoon.
It's time for your say college football fans. Who do you think should be selected as the Big 12 South winner and why?
