salties are australian. but they can live in freshwater which is an important notation to remember as apparently alot of even natives don't know this. thus they get chomped

estaurine or saltwater crocodiles are the larger of the two crocodiles native to australia. the other being johnstons or freshwater crocodile. the important thing to remember however is that saltwater crocodiles are not in fact that inclined to hang about in saltwater areas. while they can live in the ocean and often do they are more likely to live in brackish freshwater.

alot of people don't seem to know that. which when going into croc territory is a very bad thing not to know.

Well, I didn't know that, but I really didn't need to.

I'm also not sure when we started talking about crocs.

after the picture of the mugger. the difference between them is a mugger is alot mire capable of doing the 'high walk' as the one pictured is doing and they are alot more aggressive.

I see now. Mugger v. Croc :)

We were watching man vs wild yesterday. He wrestled a Croc and knifed it in the spinal cord, then he ate it... can't do that with a mugger!

croc or gator? reptiles would of been my specialty if i had of ever gone to uni for zoology. so i like this stuff.

i've seen him kill gators a couple of times but never tackle a croc.

I quite enjoy mr grylls but if you ever tried to use his show to survive in the wilderness you would die a terrible terrible death

Yes, his tactics can be a bit dangerous and stupid at times, especially if you don't know what you are doing.

I think it was a Gatorade actually, it was in Florida, so yeah, I'm sure it was actually.

his early stuff wasn't...too bad. but his newer seasons need a disclaimer to tell people the show is for entertainment purposes only and should not be applied in a survival situation.

going into caves is ALWAYS a bad idea.

I enjoy it merely as entertainment. He does put himself in some dumb situations, but that is just to try and prove his own awesomeness. Everything has to be prefaced with: Don't try this at home.

it really does. my dad takes it seriously. which disturbs me as he is normally a very sensible man. oh and he runs the RAAF survival school.

heard of it but it hasn't been on over here since.
i would like to see it.

i need to get back into hiking. but i have nobody to go with and with the amount of snakes and what not up here it's too dangerous to go solo

Never much cared for hiking, which is sad, because we live in one of the best areas to do it.

Its a good show, you should watch it if you get a chance.

i intend too.

i've enjoyed the bit i've done but i'd like to do some 2-3 day hikes. the idea of carrying everything i need for a few days appeals to me for some reason.

i've done some up to 4 hrs. but yeah i'd like to do some big ones. i'd also like to kayak/camp some of the longer rivers down south. up here something would eat me.

night zon turf.

The idea of doing a pack in camping trip has always sounded fun to me too, but I don't have anyone to go with, and that is an important part.
