Inches is just weird.
Inches to feet to yards isn't too bad a conversion, but after that everything's a bunch of huge numbers not easily divisible by 10, 100, or 1,000. The metric system would be so much easier.

i'd be happy to use what the rest of the world uses, it's all the mechanics that keep it from happening.

Went to a Cub Scout camp this past weekend. It was exhausting but fun. The kids had a good time with all the activities they had planned. We tent camped Friday and Saturday nights. It rained both nights. But the days were beautiful with near unlimited sunshine and temps near 65F and no humidity. My son loved it.

it's been getting very close to freezing at nights here...i wouldn't want to be camping for a few more weeks...i do have fond memories of winter camps when i was a scout...god i was stupid back then.

There is a patch they can earn called Polar Bear or something like that. You camp in the late Fall or early Spring and if it gets below freezing you earn the patch. It is for Boy Scouts, I think, not Cub Scouts. So I have a couple more years before he may want to do it.

If I was a Boy Scout, I'd have had that patch a couple times over. Scenario organizers don't like to tell you what the weather will be like when you are doing an overnight game.
