Tele Baal / Tal's Set - Shield

I'm at NM right now, doing Baal runs. At what level should I stop and start heading into Hell?

The big problem I'm having at the moment is that I'm a Sorc, and subsequently not very good at teleporting to the Throne of Destruction. Actually, to be perfectly blunt, I suck. Really badly. If you're on East L, and have seen a ridiculous display of crap teleporting in NM in the last two days, that may have been me. I apologize.

So... how do I fix that? I'm using Sigon's Shield at the moment (still can't find a nice two socket shield for Rhyme and haven't gotten to the point of picking or acquiring my "endgame" shield just yet), and using most of Tal's set. My other gear is just generic junk I've found on my way here. Do I need to reach a specific fast hit breakpoint? I have no ice armor and no ES.

Is there a certain way to teleport around that makes it more likely I can avoid teleporting into a pack of fetishes and being poked to death? How do I deal with those darn Succubi that cast that magic version of Iron Maiden?

Also, on the note of shield, I'm making a Meteorb PvM/MF sorc. Using primarily the entire Tal's Set, since I'm guessing I'll be able to acquire that entire set long before I can get the unique/runeword godlys like Mara's, Arachnid, Hoto, CoH together. Is Stormshield the way to go? It seems like _the_ choice, but it's strength req are steep and since my other gear doesn't add to strength, I want to be sure before I commit too many points into there.

Thanks for any advice.

FHR and FCR is critical for teleporting. Once you get hit, ONCE, you're screwed, especially if you're in a pack of blunderbores, which stun, or stygian dolls, which explode and attack extremely fast. Got to have a lot of FCR to be able to teleport out of the mob before they have a chance to hit you, and failing that, FHR to be able to recover from the first or second hit you get enough to teleport out of there.

You need to get to 105% fast cast rate, then you will have no problem going down to Baal and back in a few seconds :)

Tals full set sux for Fast Cast.

You can beef it up a bit with 2x rare/crafted 10% rings. Lidless Eye (20% fast cast) Tals set has 50% Fast cast with all synergies. And Magefist Gloves 20%

That takes you to the magic 110% figure, u only need 105% though.

Wizardspike is a good choice too, that has 50% fast cast.

FAST CAST is essential though.

Also when you teleport, hug the walls, and teleport just before a pack, then as far away from the pack as you can, when u teleport next to them , they will run up 2 u, then by the time they get to where you were you should already be in front of where they started.

Where thundergods belt to reduce the lightning damage.

NEVER teleport into a pack or they will kill you. Aime for 75% block as well you can do this with Whistans , Blocking 75% of all hits , means 75% damage reduction.

First Question :

Normal Levels 1-45 (can get away with 40)
NM 40-65 (can get away with 60)
Hell 60+

If you want a few more HP and stuff, stay in NM till 65, but if u have friends who can help, and rush you to baal runs, then 60 is fine :)

You can teleport safely with complete Tal's Set and simply use Wizard Spike and Lidless n switch for Teleporting. No problem reaching 105% FCR then. Some FHR can't hurt or even one of those cold armors, preference goes to Shiver Armor since it chills on attack and not on hit.
Having a Merc with you will help too, since he distracts some attacks from you.

Also when teleporting those 2 lvls in World Stone Keep, stick to those little alco ves and the corners. That will help too.

Once you are in the Throne room, teleport along the right path leading to the main throne room and choose a spot for a TP. Best choices are lower right corner and upper right corner. You will attract less monsters there and as soon as the tp is up, help is on the way already.

Thank you all.

Two more things, if you're not sick of me just yet

1. I'm guessing best bet for socketing SS would be an Um? If my other gear makes up for resistance, what would be better in the long run? An Eld? I'm not sure if a -req rune would be more stat efficient than an Eld, but I suppose I don't really care about bumping my strength too high, since I may end up having a 4 socket Ith Monarch on switch if I ever can afford one.

2. I recently acquired a Tomb Reaver two socket for my Holy Freeze Mercenary. I already prematurely stuck an Amn rune in there for leech without thinking about whether I'd have a life leech helm or not. I hope that wasn't too big a mistake. Either way though, should I socket a second Amn, a Shael, or some form of enhanced damage jewel (given I could get one) for my second socket?

Not sure about SS socket, I'm using Whitstan's right now with stat points saved. Crossing my fingers for a -15% req/+15 res all jewel but still debating if I should go ahead and just spend the stats on str and um or pdiamond.

As for tele tips, WSK2 teleport counter-clockwise. WSK3 I usually go straight to the right and then tele clockwise and that seems to work well. Actually, WSK3 is hit or miss but WSK2 with counter-clockwise is often ridiculously easy.
