Tech Question: Grafix settings

First things first, I want to be able to run Counter-Strike on OpenGL settings and also run D2 on DirectDraw settings. Now, I downloaded the latest driver for my video card to fix the opengl problem with cs [since it said it wasn't supported], but when I do that, D2 gets all weird in channel and in game with the screen all flickering with gold streaks and whatnot. I run it under Direct3D and its fine. I uninstall the grafix driver and then run CS, and it wont run on OpenGL now, while d2 runs fine on DirectDraw. How can I get them to both run fine on the desired settings?

I can't really answer your question, but why do those settings matter to you? Is there a big difference in quality?
Personally I run Diablo2 under linux (with wine) and I couldn't get it to work with directdraw either., with problems very similar to those you describe, but under direct3d it's fine. The game runs flawless and the graphics are perfect quality...
so... do you have performance issues with direct3d or are the graphics bad? Otherwise I don't see why you would care.

ah, sorry I didn't specify, but there are performance issues. DirectDraw seems to give me better fps, with little loss and gmaeplay impact while dueling, which is what I mainly do on d2
