    Tcp/ip

So I am a bit confused about tcp/ip, If I host a tcp/ip game can I give anyone in the world my ip address to invite them or must they be pretty much in the same house as myself?

If you can host, then you can invite anyone in the world to come join you.

However, one problem that will arise is that the person who joins might suffer a laggy game if either one of you don't have a decent connection/computer.

Also, your local IP isn't the same as your Internet IP that is provided by your ISP. To see what's your IP address on the Internet visit http://www.whatsmyip.org/ or similar pages. Computers that are not on your local network will have to use that IP adress to connect to your games.

    Re: Tcp/ip

others on your lan wil be able to join without any problems (as long as windows firewall doesnt get in the way)

youll need to have your router forward some ports to allow others on the internet to join your game
