It sounds like they're asking ME to help erase damage SOMEONE ELSE is responsible for. It's no different than adopting a tiger. I didn't kill a single tiger...ever. Why are people asking ME to save them? Same with fish; get the people who fish to correct the problem. I didn't do anything.

I'm not taking care of someone else's kid, and I'm not cleaning up someone else's messes.

Idk, it was an old program I heard about back in high school where some people come in to school and try to brainwash us into thinking we should pay money to save tigers that someone else is wiping out.

I'm even against Rememberance Day and Recycling.

I didn't participate in wars or start any wars; why should I have to remember?

I'm not the one who owns a factory that makes plastic bags/bottles. The company who makes the garbage should be responsible for recycling it.

It's all guilt inducing tactics and bandaid solutions. In fact, most if not all organizations that leech money from people are just badnaid solutions, which is what led to my ice-hearted thread on charity: helping them is hurting them.

If PETA is being humane, why is their adoption rate so much lower than other animal shelters?

PETA kills animals to make them look like they are suffering more as a whole. "Oh, if PETA had to put it down, it must have been in bad shape." It's really in their interest to kill what they protect, and they seem to do a good job of it.

Real subtle there Stolpskott except that animals are valued a lot lower than humans, especially by humans. If an animal can't survive on it's own and no human is willing to take care of it then it's fair to kill it and anyone that disagrees can prove their point by adopting it.

PETA's problem is that they organize demonstrations outside animal hospitals, protesting that the clinic euthanais animals when PETA themselves euthanais several thousands of animals every year.

That second part is the key. PETA has abysmally low adoption rates. Other shelters do much much better.
