Super Gumby PVP?

Not sure this would work too well and it would be a pain in the butt of a build to level up, but I've noticed in my duels that Gumby is a pain in the backside for most players.

If you maxed him all the way in mastery, CG, and resists, he'd be a pretty tough hombre at 3000 HP, delivering 60% slow, and with a 33% bonus to an already considerable speed that would would make him hard to shake. Now, obviously this would simply be too excessive, not leaving enough points to put into strong PK skills, but I've been thinking, a speedy gumby with slow at 50% (The max you can slow other players down) and 50% resistance in addition to his cold resist would be an absolute terror for somebody who is trying to draw a bead on you but has to deal with this hard to kill/easily resummoned golem constantly nipping at his heels. What I'm thinking is 10 in golem mastery, 10 in gumby himself, and 1 in summon resist, and let your items round at the rest. Presumably, at high levels, you're going to have at least +5 to everything due to + everything items and maybe even more incidental skill points that are "extra" on other stuff.

Let's be conservative with the +5 and see what we've got.

1,770 HP
58% slow (8 more than necessary)
31 percent speed bonus
50% magic resistance.

I imagine an 80 plus level character with the typical outrageous equipment could probably take him down pretty fast, but from what I've seen of high level duels, that distraction alone is worth your while. With his extra speed, he'll be a lot tougher to ignore and it might actually take two magic blasts to take him out rather than one with his spell resistance and crapload of hitpoints.

With 79 (I think) points remaining, you have plenty of SP to devote to vicious bone spear/spirit attacks and I don't think most people would expect your Gumby to be that tough so it could be a cool surprise.

Thoughts/criticism appreciated.

a gumby in hell takes a damn long time to kill with my necro, i think with a marrow necro, you could do the 10 into mastery, 10 into golem

pokey is cooler

gumbymancer oh no don't man plzz no!
Seriously, I wanna see you pull this off. I was considering making a gumbymancer with 10 into clay, 10 into life/speed and 1 into summon resist.
But making the necro able to kill monsters/players is the tricky part.
I considered bone but nah...overdone.
*scratches balls*
So I decided poison would be most viable.
21 for my super gumby.
60 poison.
7 in the curses (just for LR and Decrep.)

lvl ** completion -12 for quests. and its 76.

so after lvl 76 you can pump more points into gumby and his synergies or go with bone armor...or revives, its all up to you my friend.

Have fun if you try this build, I really don't have time to make one. But if you do lemme know how he turns out.

If you're ladder and can get ahold of metalgrid, then you get some decent defence added too. Add a Defiance merc and Gumby stands to stick around a little longer. Could make for an effective tank.

Clay golem also has natural cold resistance. I think around 50%?? Anyways, he will be immune to cold with the +skills and 1 point in Summon Resist.

Let us know if the build pans out.

Doesn't a maxed clay golem with maxed synergies have way more than 3000 hp?
One should assume so --- I have 1 point in clay/blood/iron/mastery, +12 from items, and the skilltab claims the golem has 5219 life.

So maxing it should give him more...

Hmm. I was looking at the stats at arreat for that 3K health number. Maybe my math was wrong or there are hidden synergies? Also, to the guy recommending sparky, this build was for a slightly toned down bonemancer with a tough, speedy, gumby, not a poisonmancer.
