Super Drops - MF
Can someone please explain how to accomplish a superdrop for MF purposes
if by "superdrop" you mean "quest drop," just kill the boss for the first time and thats the drop.
Also, with Andarial, you can apparently continue to get a quest drop by travelling to Act 2 (through Warriv) straight after killing her for the first time. Any subsequent times you kill Andarial on that difficulty level should always result in a quest drop.
No thats not what I mean. Supposedly you can get a super drop of mephisto, diablo or baal by using a combination of 1 player that has completed quest and 1 that hasn't. But not sure who has to do the killing
thats known as a quest drop.
as long as you are partied with the person who has not completed that quest and he/she created the game, you can get that drop.
However, I dont think it will work if like that person is still in act1 while you go kill meph.
this is true. they have to get credit for the quest.
whenever i see a game called help kill meph or another boss, i'll usually help them for the drops.
For what it's worth...I have rushed about 15 of my char through to Hell Forge using my 914 MF sorc, and really haven't seen that much of a difference in the 'Quest Drop' vs Regular Drops. maybe it's the high MF, maybe not, but I have found that the best method is the tried and true 'fast killing and lots of it' method...there is no 'silver bullet' in this one...
Ok, here's how (I've found) it really works. Note that the aforementioned bug allows for easier quest drops from Andariel and Duriel; this method works for any boss. There's only one requirement, really: the person making the final killing blow to the boss must not have already gotten quest credit for killing this boss. That's it. Therefore, to repeat this over and over again, the game should be created by someone who has completed the quest. Party status does not affect anything here.
This, alexzed, may be why you notice no difference. If your rusher is killing the bosses, you're not getting the quest drop because they've already solved the quest in a previous game.
That's just anecdotal Evidence. Crunching the numbers that thrugg displayed in this thread, It looks like there is roughly a 35% better chance of a unique from a quest drop than a normal drop for Duriel, Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal. Andariel and her quest drop bug are yielding 45% more uniques than she would without the bug. The increase isn't something that would be easily noticed, but it is significant in the long run.
Duriel doesn't have the quest-drop bug, as another bug apparantly counters it.
Is it the almost-never-drops-anything-worth-sneezing-at bug? Sure seems like that to me.
But seriously, thanks for clearing that up.
Correct. My bonemancer found an ethereal Torch of Iro on Duriel's corpse. Besides that one, Duriel never gave me something interesting.
Who wants to run Duriel for the TP scrolls?
Oscuro - Ahhhh. That would make sense.
(alexzed retreats to a corner to sit quietly now...)
you're lucky - i get antidote potions. A couple of times though bosses don't drop anything at all, i think there's a small chance when they're killed by act 3 cold mercs
I envy you. On the other hand, Hell act bosses up to Baal dropped Tancred's Hobnails 3-4 times in this season for me so far. Beat that
I could problably beat that, considering the amount of time I spend MFing, but out of all the kills I only remember a set Quilted Armor (the same run my Meph MFer lvled up) and set Boots from Pindle at the moment.
