Summoner Solos the game :)

Just thought i would make a quick post to say that i have finally finished hell and ive done it all solo.

I ended up lvl83
skills as follows

SM 20
RS 20
Mage 11
Revive 6
Summon Resists 2
CE 20
Amp 4

STR 83
DEX 50
VIT 323
ENG 39

Wearing full trangs (bought by collecting PGems on my journeys) and some normal other bits and peices!

Ah well back off to find a maras, 2x SoJ's and 10 Summon skillers and i can retire the character :)

Just some thoughts...

Technically, Maras is a bad choice for a Trangs Skelemancer --- it's easy to get resists to 75% (I think I only have 1 or 2 resistance charms left in my inventory, in addition to the anni, and NO resistance gear at all save for trangs), so you can use a +3 summoning amulet instead.

Well, at least myself thinks that +3 summoning is worth more than +2 all --- CE blast radius is high enough anyway (I have it at slvl 28), and I've never consideed the curses to be a prioblem either (all at 7; I think the AoKL gives another +2 to terror, but it's usually weaponswitched away)

Of course, I have the almost perfect +3 summon amulet on my Skelemancer... with an extra +23% mf :) Only problem is that the 23% is not the max :-( The only amulet that could possibly make me swap that one out would be a +3 summon with teleport charges...

A lot of people disregard the "blue" items, but they can be excellent choices... since I don't have SOJs/BKs, I'm using MF rings --- a Nagel, and a blue ring with +95 mana and 23% mf. Even swapped my plain 25% mf ring for that one :)

I am looking to do one with only skill points in the summoning tree adventually. its one of the 21 builds I am looking to do I have 4 done and am working on a passive amazon but necro is one of the ones to come up shortly.

How was the ancients and how did you fair in tight areas like the maggots lair?

ancients was really easy,

Dont think i had a problem with them on any level.

The maggots lair was a total nightmare, i dont think ive hated something quite as much.

Good points on the +3 summons amulet, i was looking more for a + to all skills as it will up my amp/dec a little as well.

Im not to bothered about MF just want to get my skellys as high as possible then just start a freah with a new class :)

There not really a right or wrong way when it comes to equipment imo. I'd say go with whatever your requirements are. Personally I don't think you can go wrong with maras with the + all skills. It got resistance as well so i can free up spae in inventory for resist charms and even free up the extra slot for the wing for a rune or jewel.

I love killing the ancients with my summoners. They just stand there, looking stupid and trying to whack at my skeles while I shoot spirits/novas at them :drool:

A pure summoner almast always has trouble (or is at least slowed down) in the maggot lair & arcane sanctuary. No-one really loves those places

Nice to hear you liked playing the summon necro though. Maybe you should try a meleemancer now? ( just a suggestion ;) :D ) :howdy:

Just yesterday, actually, I played through all of hell mode, without having a friend rush me.. which may not seem like a big deal, but I was certainly satisfied with myself. :howdy: Didn't die once, actually. =o Currently level 77, merc is level 65ish I think; beat act 1, then made an act 2 game, only one other person joined (a hammerdin, lol) and we pretty much played through all of it.. it was fun, for a change. I'm a long time reader of the forums, but this is my first time posting on them. You guys sparked my interest in my summoner again. Thanks! :thumbsup:

lol my maxed LR and PR daggermancer loves those areas.
