    Summoner merc wep: arioc's needle?

I came across a +4 skills arioc's lying on a mule and thought that could be an ok wep for my summoner's might merc (i cant afford the expensive runewords). the +4 skills gives him and my skellies an extra +40%ed and it has 50% ds and fast speed. Only bad thing is the relative low dmg (though the ds, speed and extra dmg from +4 skills kinda makes up for it) and no ll (would probably amn it though)

Could this compete with bonehew which he uses atm u think?

In my opinion, it far surpasses the bonehew. With a full army of skellies and perhaps magi or revives, your merc won't be doing very much killing regardless of what his weapon is (except for the first few kills to get the ball rolling). His increased might aura will contribute more overall damage to your "party" than you would gain by using, say, an ethereal tomb reaver or bonehew.

are you guys sure that mercs get their might auras boosted by + to skills? i've tested this extensively with battle command and it doesn't change.

I just tested this and it does indeed work. Here's what I did:

    * Merc (might) is wearing +2 valor.
    * Without aura on, damage is 1065-2279, regardless of if he is wearing the valor or not.
    * I take off his armor and allow aura to activate. Damage is 1637-3885.
    * I put armor back on him. Damage is now 1679-4004.

So unless this is a case of the LMS (lying merc screen), I can say without a doubt that the might arua is boosted by +all skills.

Having a high level might aura for a summoning army is godly. Therefore the crappiest arloc's beats the best bonehew for a might merc on a summoner necro.

Ariocs is, and will always be one of the best weapons for might mercs due to the increased aura level.
It has almost only advantages, like deadly strike and speed, and yes, with an amn socket, you are fine.
Add andys visage for lifesteal and +2 skills extra, and some 'stone' rw armor, and your merc will be a warmachine.
(CoH is even better though, with nice damagemods, lifesteal and an additional +2skills)
A merc with +8 to all skills along with hordes of skellies = yummie!
+6 isnt too bad either, and its cheap with andys helm.

With all the minions a summoner has, your army already deals enough damage. Your merc's main job is providing the aura. In order to add something significant, better go for e.g. an upped Kelpie Snare (preferably an ethereal one). With that weapon you probably won't ever lose even a single skeleton to any single target, like act bosses, because they get slowed so massively, especially in combination with decrep and the clay golem.
