I don't care much for trading for profit. But it hurts that I can't give/receive excess loots to/from friends that play less/more than myself.

This would really turn into an online single player game. We only need other players to help kill ubers.

Throwing in my suggestions to re-enable limited BOA sharing / trading:

  • Only possible between close friends. Via account linking.
  • Repurpose the "2 hr trade window" system to max N number of accounts that can use this item. No time limit .

Details described in http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/10949134917

My second suggestion would actually be quite feasible to implement before release, seeing as how it reuses a lot of existing code. Just need one more confirmation box and some additional text.

I'm very against the first idea of linking accounts. There are ways to do that on the PSN and I've seen friends who seemed pretty close end up screwing each other over and mess up their friendship.

I do really like the second idea of a trade limit. It doesn't really kill third party trading, but it does allow for a diverse diminished/tiered value system that I really like. First trades being super valuable and sought after, while the last trade would allow for more bartering options and a real way to take the item out of the economy that actually makes sense.

I don't think account linking will cause as big a problem as on the PSN because you won't be able to steal then trade away your friend's items. Those items are still "account" bound. If you took something without permission, it can just be taken back. Unless of course you salvaged it just to be an *******.

Plus, account linking can be used to for players that own multiple (mule) accounts. And - I hope Blizzard is reading this - I would be tempted to buy extra mule accounts when it goes on sale. And I don't think I'm alone!

I do like the trade limit too. It will eventually and slowly but surely take something out of circulation.

Now, how about having both systems? :)

Is the only argument for BOA "because it allows good drop rate that would have otherwise ruined the 'economy'"?

With some kind of limited item-sharing mechanism, since there is still no "economy" to ruin, wouldn't we be given the same drop rate as with a BOA system, hence removing the only good reason to not support limited item-sharing mechanism?

If you want to play ironborn, or a single-player online game, how does a limited item-sharing mechanism negatively impact your playing experience, assuming drop rate is not affected?

Can someone explain the reasoning for voting to keep BOA as is?

Edited:

Who is to say that even with BOA, we will get good drop rates? Latest patch is disheartening:

Torment level legendary drop rate was reduced even more with no compensation. Some "powerful" but less than Torment level legendary drop rate has also been reduced to compensate for gambling.

We should be asking for both good drop rates and trading, so we don't end up with neither.
