Stupid Question?

Greetings,

I love playing and want to get the best gear I can so I do meph runs and etc. Nothin different there I suppose, but....I don't use MH (or any bot/hack) so it takes me an insane long time for find the way down often. Well my question is this...........are the number of maps of a certain area finite? Can I actually memorize the darn things...it's frustratin to spend so long doin these things and I have no clue any other way to get better gear.

Thanks
Hokie

Hey,

Yes, I believe there is a finite number of maps; no, I don't believe you (or anyone) could memorise them all :)

As a general rule, heading clockwise from the waypoint will get you to the stairs down quicker than going anti-clockwise. Like every rule, though, there are exceptions.

One other thing I like to do during meph runs, is doing a quick circle around the waypoint, before heading clockwise. I've had several times where the stairs down was right next to the waypoint, but just on the other side of the wall.

I going of the presumption that your using a sorc, or at least a character that can teleport.

Edit: I know there was a website that went into abit of detail about the maps, but do you think I can find it now ? .... *sigh*

It is much easier with a good faster cast rate.
Check the sorc FCR breakpoints, try to reach a good one.
You will find your way much faster, and it's easier to avoid monsters.

IMO, a faster sorc= a better sorc

I have Naj's staff in 2nd weapon slot on my mf character, so I can teleport around. ;)

but it still doesnt beat my.. enigma!!!! lol.. i kid, j/k. I wish i had an enigma. Anyway, Naj's staff is great for not so rich ppl to tele around with other mf chars besides sorcs. Other options are that you can find tele charges on amys as well. But i personally think that repairing those charges cost way too much are can get annoying if u run out in the middle of a run.

The fastest way I have found, as said before, is to tele along the left wall. Sometimes it is right next to the wp, sometimes you have to go all the way around, but the only real trouble is when the exit to lvl 3 is not on the outside wall and is instead in the middle of the map (which happens, in my unscientific estimation, about 10% of the time or less.) It is probably fastest when this happens to quit and start another game.

BTW, I haven't counted, but I'm pretty sure there are more than 7 maps, at least on BNET. If you are on single player, I think there is a way to play the same map over and over, but that is a question for the SP forum.

This is great and all for sorcs. But I too have this problem with my zon, it always seems to be the last place I look (the stairs that is..). But this is the price of treasure I suppose. :p

Yes there are stupid questions ... like what color is this blue pen and whats the meaning of life
Well as for the first part, I refer to the movie: Liar Liar, Jim Carrey can answer you that question :D

And as for the second part, there are two possible answers IMO
1) There is no meaning of life, your mom and dad had sex, you got born, simply Biology and Natural laws implying (I am a scientist, the world and everything beyond that is bound by elementary laws)
2) The road to finding the meaning of life IS the meaning of life (you set goals in your life and try to reach them, you'll never reach them all, but you'll try, and that's life) => this last one I came up with myself after thinking about it for a long long time (it finally came out while doing a theologic project for school)
