    Strange treats

Have you ever gotten something so effin' wierd trick or treating that you wanted to smack the person who dared put that into your candy bag?

I've gotten peanuts (still in the shell, not in a package.) from an old lady, and a breadstick from some guy.

    Wth.

Lets get it out of the way:
Burning bag of poo always has been and always will be a good one.

I think anything given free should be appreciated - whether a chocolate bar, peanuts in the shell, or a burning bag of poo. Let's face it - you're getting something for nothing here.

I plan on handing out candy - and any little monster that refuses to say Trick or Treat, or refuses to say thanks, gets a 'trick' in the form of a blast from the hose on the way out!

A roll of pennies every year from a retired teacher.
Pack of Topps baseball cards with the crunchy gum.
Always got tons of homemade stuff like popcorn balls, cookies, candies, etc. This should be considered strange nowadays, but they still do that where I grew up.

In college I delivered pizza and always worked halloween for the freebies.

One year I ended up with 7 beers each from a different place as my "treat" along with lots of candy, heh.

I totally agree..anything that is given deserves a thanks.

This year Samara was a tad more aware of Halloween. At every house, I would say to her after she got her candy..."What do you say?". I am trying to teach her politeness. She always replied "More candy!" Ok..I did have to change my prompt a bit. Eventually, she did say thank you to every house.

It was really nice when Liam went around. He wasn't going to go until I told him he didn't have to hang with Samara. He could go with his friends. All the houses we went to told me how polite he was and what a good job I did raising him. He was considerate in not tramping over flower beds..said thank you..and actually talked to them. Liam is a peach..Samara is still learning :).

You should go back to that street and visit that house. Yell TRICK! when they open the door and throw a bucket full of nudie pics in their house. They deserve to be traumatized like that.

Its all in how you raise them. I have always taught my children respect. Liam holds the door open for people. Currently, Samara is a hedonist. She is learning.

I am so proud of Liam to have this type of reputation. This is the first year I let him trick or treat without me. I am so happy that even without me prompting him, he was thankful and polite. That means a whole lot to me. I guess I did do a good job raising him.

    Thanky.

For some reason I am able to balance my school, work and mommy hood. Others seem to think I can't.

I go to school so I can provide things for my kids that I was never afforded without relying on a man to help out.

After LIam was done trick or treating..he passed out candy. He loved it.

When some little kid came up in a "spooky" costume..he played along with it. He pretended to be afraid. That is a huge bonus for the little tykes.

I so love my kids..they are both so cool.

Oh..and I work, go to school. There is no one that can tell me that I have done a bad job. But that came from a high school drop out who has the luxury of allowing someone else to provide for them. I don't do that. I do a damned fine job without anyone but me.
