    Strange Jewel

Ok, not really a newcomer thing but didn't know where to post this.

    Carbuncle Jewel of Joyfulness.

Besides having a funny name, it also has a weird effect

    Adds 4-5 damage.

    1) This suf\prefix doesnt exist.
    2) Theres only 1 effect for a pre+suffix.

Im guessing the max\min damages combined to get this. Has anyone gotten one of these before? Lol

Yeah I realize that. Carbuncle = max dmg. Joyfulness = Min dmg.

That site mentions nothing about them combining together when in the same jewel. Just wondering if anyone had ever seen this before.

Well, if an item adds a minimum of 4 damage and a maximum of 5 damage, then it adds 4-5 damage. The game often combines two modifiers into one line when they are similar.

Such as a Fortuitous Ring of Fortune, for instance. It won't have two lines with different MF values added; it will have one line with the two MF values combined.

That could be super confusing. Two of the same mods combine - MF to MF, in your case. These two mods are _not_ the same; minimum damage and maximum damage. IIRC this is the only case in which something like this happens.

Poison damage with different durations also combine to form poison damage with a third duration. It's all math.

It may be quite common. For example, the "fine" prefix on charms is displayed as "+x maximum damage" while it actually is +x min damage and +x max damage. ("fine" also grants +AR but that's not important here)

They are not combining together in a strange way. It's a well-known thing, when one item has both properties +min damage and +max damage, In the description of the item will be only "adds min-max damage". It's really common and I got a lot of those. The item still has two separate properties.

@Anthraquinone - Fine prefix adds only to maximum damage. I ma not sure where did you get that it also adds to minimum damage.
