    stone runeword

    Hello, i have a couple of doubts...

    i had a 4 sockets superior great hauberk (572 def), so i decided to try stone runeword. The result is a 1917 def armor (282% enhanced defense). now comes my question...is that the expected final defense? i thought it would be a bit higher...

    any comments are welcome, thx

    That's odd. If it's 282% ED, including a 15% defense boost from the Superior mod (which I assume you got), then it'd be 2100~ defense. If the runeword was made from a non-superior Great Hauberk, the numbers would be correct. Maybe there's a bug with Stone...?

    K, original defense of your hauberk was 502, the extra 70 defense must have come from it being superior, i guess a 14% superior, am i right? 502*1.14= 572.xxx, if you do the calcs then +282%ed= 502*3.82= 1917.xxx defense, the calcs are right on what you got... the extra ED% of a superior item is added, not multiplied, to any other bonus they item gets...

    That's the relevant part from the Arreat description. Your 282% is fairly close, and probably what you could expect realistically. Funny thing is... with me calcing, it should've been ~2185 with 282% enh. def...

    It might be that the basic enhanced defense from the Superior part is playing you tricks... I don't know what the enh. def. for that would be...

    // edit : aha - looks like someone with a bit more cognient ability than me this late at night answered already :)

    my superior archon with 572 base got 2,016 at 284% ED, don't know if this is relavant, i was just a little confused as to why you got so much less at only 2% less ed than mine...

    ???

    lets see if i understand it...i have to improve my english...hehe. then the superior modifier applies to the final defense the character gets, not to the final armor defense, am i right?

    Halbreed, just do *reverse calculation*
    2016/3.84= 525 base defense
    572/525=1.09=> 9% superior.

    Your armor was a 525 defense one with 9% superior mod while his was a 502 defense one with 14% superior mod...
