    Stephen King books

Looking for anyone who can help me to solve that problem :

My girlfriend loves S.Kings books. On 7th july he will be reading at Bangor University, Maine USA but ... i live in Poland. I just wonder if anyone can help me to get signed and dedicated book by him. It would be a wedding gift.

To be honest, i do not need just signed book (can buy one on eBay or from resellers)
that simple dedication "For (name of her) S.King" ... would be the best thing i ever done in my life.

If u can help me somehow or you know someone please PM me

    regards

Seriously, if you can pull this off it would be an awesome wedding present. All the effort and organisation... great idea.

    Re: Stephen King books

You should try emailing him, explain your situation, and perhaps he will be cool with you mailing a book to him to sign and he can mail it back. That seems to have a greater success of working than finding someone in Maine who happens to be going to the reading.

Is Stephen King the one that writes horror stories at random aboout things like the stuff he sees on his desk then end up with books where a papperclip godzilla stomps pen city?

    What a lucky girl.

Try talking to the moderator on the SK forums. That person says they are in direct contact with SK.

Ooooooooooh Wow! I love his books, read almost a dozen of them so far, can't pick my favorite really, they were all awesome. What book are you going to choose?

I would choose one of the short story compilations myself.

    Re: Stephen King books

I would choose The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. That is Stephen King's most complete book that he has written, start to finish, that I have read, and it is fairly less known than many of his other books like The Stand, It, and The Shining.

    Re: Stephen King books

todays answer from the MOD :

"I'm sorry, but Stephen is currently only doing signings at book signing events."

i did ask twice and it seems to be impossible to ask SK by the MOD.

    by the way
it doesnt count which book or story as long as i know i can pass thrue this problem.

    thanks guys

No idea but perhaps you should try to find someone directly from Bangor University in Maine? IDK, their student organization or something like that.

Chances are slim but perhaps it's possible that someone would be willing to help. I've myself done something similar for an American forumer here in Poland last year (something very different but that doesn't really matter, thing is that some people might surprise you and be willing to help) :pancake:

    Good luck

    Re: Stephen King books

How did you find out about this? Also, you said a reading, not a book signing, so are you sure he's even going to be signing books?

    A few other possibilities:

Post an ad on Craigslist, although looking at it, the Maine listings are pretty sparse, and time is short if it's July 7th.

Contact the Bangor book clubs and book stores (and see if an employee or a regular customer would help).

And, to add to Uncle_Mike's idea, look for some of the "nerdier" student organizations, like any book clubs or chess clubs or role-playing clubs and see if you can email their presidents/officers. Those people would probably be more into something like this than, say, the student government or program council.

    Re: Stephen King books

its been said, that he is going to sign books for the first 1000 ticket buyers

im sure it will be a reading with (if my memory is good enough) two other writers

everything comes from SKs message webboard and its MOD.

    thanks for that :)

got a lot of work i see but its worth it !!
