Stats for a zealot.

My paladin is about level 50, and ive been going 2 str 2 vit and 1 dex. should i continue doing this till hes finished? Or should i stop with the str and dex and pump vit and a ertain point?

Get enough Str to wear your end-game gear.

Get enough Dex for max block with your end-game shield.

Then put everything else in Vit.

Whether it's average gear or "rich" gear a zealot should not have more than 130-140 base strength. Dexterity with a decent shield (65% or higher paladin block rate) should require something like 120 dexterity at level 80 for max block with level 20 holy shield (an absolute must for melee paladins). The rest goes into vitality as stated.

If that's the case.. I would not use your points until you get gear. Just let them save up.... when you find an item you need that you don't have stats for... adjust accordingly. Just be careful you don't find some item that requires an insane high amout of dex or str... you pump it up... then letter find a better item with much lower requirements and now you've wasted a lot of points. I know it's always a judgement call... but look on the Arreat summit site for what you 'wish' you could get.... then when you find other gear to use... if it's way different then your wish list... you may wanna consider if it's worth it.

Bump what the Govenah said. When I start a new character, I plan his end-game gear out from the beginning. For example, I wanted my Avenger to use Shaft + Gaze. Then I decided on Runemaster as a weapon. Then I filled in the rest of the equipment choiecs to make sure I would have enough IAS, resists, etc. By planning like that I know what I'm going to need for Str, Dex, etc, and I can assign my points accordingly.

Also as previously mentioned, you may want to save yourself 25 points or so as a reserve fund in case you make a change or an adjustment later. Don't spend those points until you are sure you won't need them elsewhere!

My strategy for reserving additional points for later in case I need them is this...I just don't get the Lam Esen's tome quest in every difficulty until I need it later...which totals 15 extra points to throw around end game. Also save up any +str or +dex charms and mule them just in case you can't squeeze out the last 10 points, but if that's the case, you might want to rebuild...

OMG, and my zealot is lvl 82 with base str 156, base dex 149!!! (which means i have lost some vit) i'm afraid i'm gonna have to reroll

I have the same problem as koop, i have no idea which will be my end game gear and i have no idea about good items (i suck in that). I think i'm gonna do what Omikron said (130-140 str and 120 dex).

Thats what planning and enigmas are for... lol. Plan your items first and get an enigma [if possible] cause that base str can go Way down...

lol OT... i just remembered i had this one clan member back in .09 that basically used half his gear just to get the kind of results you can get with the str add on an enigma... I remember he used 40 ed/9 str jewels and a cruel of strength and armour had strength mods and used wraiths for the +19, and amulet... It was physco and the man was hard to kill cause had a LOT of life...
