    Stat Distribution

Why is it that you basically only want to put stats into Vitality.

I have just started and dont have a lot of super great items, except what I come by playing, unlike most. Since all the guides say get X and Y, but really I can't.

Also would Leaf be a good runeword to use on a new sorceress?

Leaf is great for new fire sorcs.

You want to put stats into strength as well. If you're playing on multiplayer then at higher levels you'll be using a spirit monarch, which has a 156 strength requirement, so don't be shy about raising your strength all the way up to 156.

    Dexterity doesn't accomplish anything, useful.

It's convent to put a few points into energy when you're starting out, but at higher levels you won't need them, because a sorceress's mana pool increases quite a bit each level gained.

Vitality on the other hand keeps you alive. On normal you don't need much since monsters don't deal very much damage, but in hell you can get hit for 1000 damage faster than you can blink, and if that happens it's nice to have 1100 health (as opposed to 500) so that you have a chance to hit the big purple button.

The exception to this is energy shield sorceresses. In that case, mana keeps you alive as well as vitality, so putting many points into energy is a wise idea.

Would that 156 strength be from all stat points or with equipment added in?

156 total points after equipment, though you can always respec if you end up having put too many points in STR by the time you get all your endgame gear
