Starting my first kicker (omg) Question

Well I'm following 'The Warrior-Monk, and Uber-Tristram Assassin Build - Guide v. 1.1' for making my first kicker and I was wondering if using a shield better than using two claws and sparin some points in claw block skill. This guide says it's based in Frogboybri’s Ninja guide (very cool, btw), and in this second guide it is said that you shouldn't use a shield and put 10 points in claw block.

What do you think? I've never build an assassin and all your advices are wellcome :)

they both have their advantages and disadvantages...shield 75% block to melee, claw 60% to all, shield res/dr/skills/bla, claws res/skills/blah...its up to u on what u have to use mainly

There are very few claws you would actually want to use as kicking weapon.
For pvm especially. Nothing really comes to mind as a primary claw with good mods to transfer to kicks.
For pvm you get a lot more weapon options, some really amazing pvm weapons:
stormlash - static + cb% + nados for more stun, gg pvm weapon, socket with jah (best) or eth rune or pskull depending on the budget you are working with
last wish phase blade - good if you build your kicksin around it, but kinda pricey and imo not as good as a stormlash build, although thats debatable
crescent moon phase blade - itd + static, an incredible weapon for the price
fleshripper - cb% with ow and mtd, kinda the staple kicksin weapon, better as a pvp weapon but can be used on a pvm build
black flail - very very cheap and easy source of cb%, good for first time kicksin builds if you have trouble getting equipment

claws just dont compare for pvm because of the mods these weapons carry. w/s for sure for pvm.

Yes you're right. I've been reading the guide with more calm and there are many points that I didn't understand in the first reading.

And I still don't know exactly how this build works... anyone who has built one can plz post stats, skill points and equipment?

And can someone explain what's the point in BF for?

thanks!

point in BF is used to proc LT from dracs, or basically any proc
i built one awhile ago, dont remember stats/skills, she used lwpb, pheonix/ss, fort/coh, sdancers, dracs/trangs, dungo/ggrare, angelic ring/ammy, raven/rare, guil helm. she did ubers easily wasnt the best in duels, i used the wrong set up obviously tho

Thanks wizAdept, I've been reading your comments in the monk-uber's guide and it seems you've been working very much on this character. I was a little discouraged because of the high price of last wish as main weapon, but I think I could afford stormlash or crescent moon, so I'll try it :)

BAMFSpecialOps thanks for your reply, seems logical :D

Anyway, do you guys prefer phoenix(monarch) with all its amazing mods and many points in dexterity for max-block, or stormshield with less dex point needed for max-block and its lovely damage reduction?

In general, given that dex has influence in kick damage, how much dexterity is the standart for this build?

thanks again!

umm, i used pheonix alot for general pvm play, like baal runs and everything, but i used stormshield for ubers i got max block with ss and then went vit from there with my old kicker, if that helps at all.
