Starting all over... I play D2 in periods, but I always made sure that I logged in on time to keep my accounts. At least, I used to. Last week I logged in only to discover all my accounts had been lost due to inactivity. I thought I still had a week, but I guess I miscalculated. Anyway, my first reaction was "Dungit" (no, not "NOOOOOOoooooooo!! Whyyyyyyyy? For the love of the good Lord, whyyyyyyyyyyy??!"). I did not like it very much, I had pretty neat stuff on my mule account, and I still had the character I first made on Bnet a few years ago, with the first unique I ever owned (Shadowfang). But hey, I didn't delete them, so in a way I still have them. I consider them to be museum pieces now and I started a whole fresh new account. And I am loving it. I was pretty burned out with Diablo II, but starting from scratch really gives you a great push. Suddenly it is very satisfying again to find that particular set item, because now you don't own 7854 other versions of that item anymore. Basically you can say I am kind of glad this happened. This gave me the push I needed to pick up the game again. I would never have done it myself, willingly, but now that I was more or less "forced to", it is not a bad thing at all.
